The Bay of Pigs: The Sickening Truth Part III
Townhall.com ^ | April 23, 2022 | Humberto Fontova

“This weekend marked the 61st Anniversary of the Bay of Pigs invasion. We honor the memory of the freedom-fighters who bravely faced the communist Cuban regime. Their legacy lives on today.” (Tweet by Fl Gov. Ron DeSantis April 17th.)

Outnumbered over ten to one by Soviet-led forces and betrayed by their sponsor, these mostly civilian volunteers fought till the last bullet. In three days of relentless close-quarter fighting they made monkeys of the Soviet commanders at the scene and cannon-fodder of their Cuban lackeys, inflicting losses of 20 to one.

Fidel, Raul, and Che were quite jittery there for awhile, urging caution in the counterattack. From the lethal fury of the attack and the horrendous casualties their troops and militia were taking, the two Soviets satraps assumed they faced at least 20,000 invading "mercenaries," as they called them.

Yet it was a band of mostly civilian volunteers they outnumbered laughably. But to hear Castro's echo chamber (the D.C. beltway media and leftist academics), Fidel was the plucky David and the invaders the bumbling Goliath.

In fact, if JFK wanted some genuine profiles in courage he might have looked at the men he betrayed on that heroic beachhead. Some of most jaw-dropping heroics, however, came after the shooting ended, after they’d spent their last bullets and knew no more were coming from their ally, the most powerful nation on earth. The same one that enforced a "no-fly zone" half a country wide on another continent (Iraq) with half the U.S. Air Force for a decade but refused to provide one three miles across, 90 miles away, for half a day with two planes.

JFK’s cowardice here prompted Khrushchev to put missiles in Cuba, imo.

I had many friends in Cuba at the time. I’ll never forget or forgive JFK for this fiasco. LBJ was an absolute horror of a man, but I wonder how he would have handled the situation?

WWIII. LBJ got us into a 10 year war w Vietnam over erroneous reports regarding attacks on the USS Maddox and USS Turner Joy. He had no self control regarding war.

A strong President would have taken the opportunity recently to free Cuba when the Cubans began to rally for freedom. Or told Putin, you can have Ukraine but we get Cuba and Venezuela. Let’s roll!

My gut feeling is between the Bay of Pigs, The Cuban missile crisis, and a few other smaller things, our military conspired to have Kennedy assassinated through the mafia. I would not doubt if Kennedy ordered a nuclear strike against Cuba and the order was shoot down by our military brass and kept secret all these years. As far as I know I’m the only one that has came up with this conspiracy/theory. The reason I think this is in those History Channel, Smithsonian Channel things they always run those military history things and they have the episode on the Cuban missile crises and they always have the story about the Russian submarine that almost launched a nuclear ?torpedo on one of the U.S. Ships or something like that but at the final moment one of the three people that had to authorize it voted against the idea. I kind of believe the same thing happen on the U.S. side. Maybe it didn’t happen, maybe it did but I won’t doubt it with Kennedy, The media treated him like he could do no wrong, he was their Camelot. But our military might of saw it differently, Maybe they thought if we continual to let him rule he could lead us into WWIII, or worse. Better to have a loose cannon snuffed out then to let them rule out of control. Like I said I might be the only one that has thought of this, hopefully I’m not to much of a conspiracy nut case for thinking this.

What have they done to overthrow the regime since then?

“ In fact, if JFK wanted some genuine profiles in courage he might have looked at the men he betrayed on that heroic beachhead.”

No the CIA betrayed them. Kennedy unequivocally told Dulles in advance that there would be no US military involvement. The smirking CIA cynically thought they they could force Kennedy to invade anyway by putting a battalion on a beachhead to get slaughtered and then Kennedy would be forced to invade. He stuck to exactly what he told the CIA in the Oval Office prior.

The CIA was completely cynical and WWII was 15 years behind us. They were 100% sure that dropping a battalion on a beach with no naval gunfire or air or 2nd, 3rd and 4th wave was a guaranteed failure. They cynically put those men there knowing their fate, and thinking they could use that fate to bend JFK to the CIAs will.

They are still manipulating presidents to this day. And the Cubes and CIA shouldn’t blame Kennedy too much, they blew his head off.

I always thought that the CIA was heavily involved in the killing of JFK, seems like senior Bush was in the Agency at the time and was involved with certain ops in the area.

Also, did not JFK blame the Agency after he chickened out for the failure at the Bay of Pigs, just like a typical democrat.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Algiers_putsch_of_1961

Don’t forget, the French Algerian generals putsch happened the day after Bay of Pigs. The CIA was eyeballs deep in that too. That was supposed to overthrow DeGualle while Kennedy was distracted by Cuba.

Kennedy was right to fire Dulles and to try to scatter them to the winds. The CIA has done more to damage America and her reputation in the world that anything else in our history.

He didn’t chicken out. He told them in advance exactly what he would and wouldn’t do. They assured him US forces would not be involved and said they were certain the Cuban people world rise up and that large Cuban formations would join them. Kennedy allowed them to proceed clearly knowing US forces were not joining in.

Then under immense pressure from the plotters at Langley, he stuck to exactly what he said.

No chickening out happened. A shadow government was told they do not set national policy. 2 years later they blew his head off. They have set policy since then.

Years ago, I got into an argument with a young lib over jfk.

She screamed out loud, “ jfk solved the cuban missile crisis”.

I replied with, “No, jfk CAUSED the cuban missile crisis”.

She screamed, “ yeah...how?”

I said, “Bay of Pigs”.

Never heard another peep from her.

In my lifetime, one of the first times hearing leftists say , with total misunderstanding, “oh, they’re not going to do that. They won’t because we don’t told them they shouldn’t “.

The sickening truth is the CIA flat out disobeyed a president trying to force his hand. They put Kennedy in a crap position. He could either let these people that the CIA straight up lied to die. Or let the CIA run the country. Cause that’s really what they were trying to do. Forget overthrowing Castro, if they’d have forced Kennedy to do what they wanted to they would have overthrown their own president.

LBJ got us into a 10 year war w Vietnam over #erroneous# reports

First time I realized, much later, how much we are played by government. Gulf of Tonkin was a false flag operation excuse. LBJ was in on it all.

LBJ, McNamara are responsible for the perpetrated tragedy and loss of many.
