You can think of a software algorithm as a ‘plan’

When you write software you first create an algorithm that would perform the task you need to accomplish. An Architect works with blueprints, a programmer works with algorithms.

Written algorithms (in this case) means searching out keywords and not allowing them to be shown, or not allowing the POSTER to post any more.

So “Algorithmic Justice” (in this case) literally means “no conservative thought allowed”

“Why does Massachusetts elect Marxist Morons?”

For the same reason that a leopard does not change its spots.

‘Algorithmic Justice’

Just when you thought you’ve heard it all...

Nuts.

Wow, there's an "Algorithmic Justice League"!!?? Unbelievable.

These are the people who are upset that facial recognition systems often fail on people with dark skin. Meet some of the members...

I think this one means that they all want to be properly catalogged by “The Machine” in “Person of Interest”...

It's a small club and you aren't welcome.

Markey clearly doesn't understand that "Algorithmic Justice" as addressed by the 'League' above has nothing to do with the Twitter algorithms. The AJL does have a legitimate beef that facial recognition systems often DO fail on darker skin (in the most egregious and very rare cases, they mistake dark skin for gorillas). But that has NOTHING to do with Twitter. He's an old ignoramus Democrat.

Markey was always a dummy but toes the liberal Boston line which is why he was installed after Lurch moved on to the State Department to cause havoc there.

Its okay for Jeff Bezos to buy the Washington Post but not okay for Elon Musk to buy Twitter. A lot of gnashing of teeth for something that hasn’t happened yet and we don’t know what Musk’s orders will be once he takes over. Liberals want to own all the media outlets so they control thought. They tried to do away with talk radio when Limbaugh was growing a movement.

Markey who by the way does not live in Massachusetts (Just ask the IRS.) has absolutely got to be among the very stupidest members of Congress. He is even dummer than Joe Biden was during his peak dumbness period.

Ed Markey doesn’t even know what an algorithm is.

I once posted a picture of a bird on a Facebook nature photography page with a brief comment about how I got the “shot” and got tagged for disinformation about COVID. The SM censors don’t even read the posts. It’s simply an algorithmic knee-jerk reaction to one particular word.

Well, there are far too many posts made every second on social media for actual people to be moderating them all. Yet they have to be moderated for legal liability reasons. So these companies create algorithms that machines can implement, to screen for posts that violate the rules. If the algorithm finds something that looks suspect, instead of flagging it for review by a real human, the standard now is just to remove or suppress the post automatically, and the decision will only be reviewed by a human if the poster makes an appeal.

The problem is that the rules the algorithms use to remove posts are not known to the public, and don’t actually seem to conform to the publicly available “term and conditions” or “community standards” on many of these sites. Everyone suspects that leftist employees at the companies have cooked in some political bias into what should be an unbiased computer program. But the companies deny that, and as long as their algorithms are proprietary data, nobody can prove that they are using these things to push a political agenda without getting some court order to make them reveal the inner workings of their software.

Elon Musk has said that when he takes over Twitter, he wants to make the workings of the Twitter algorithm public.

When you have come straight out and said the Twitter algorithm is going to be put in the public domain, thus lifting the veil of how does it work, that’s as justice as you can possibly get.

Well said! Excellent point that should (for those who use reason) remove all questions of bias.

It’s also a great way to software-test any and all decisions to ban someone or perform any monkey business.

Thanks. I’m glad I could help. You’re right. The algorithm was coded to look for any words or phrases the Leftist moderators didn’t like, and those disapproved words/phrases were mostly conservative expressions.

The crazy, far left Ed Markey from Massachusetts strikes again.
He wants to take over from Pocahontas on deranged behavior?

Is he still alive too?

“Twitter Algorithm” is code for woke leftist functionaries there suppressing free speech and conservative argument.

An algorithm is defined as a process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations, especially by a computer.

In the case of Twitter, the ‘algorithms’ are nothing but woke leftist biases coded into search and destroy/censor engines that suppress or ban any content besides of the woke ideology of its board and/or employees with any semblance of control. It is a safe space for leftists.

“algorithmic justice” - it’s euphemism for “contributions in kind” to the DNC.

This has to be one of the dumbest comments made by a member of congress, and that’s saying something.

“Elon Musk has said that when he takes over Twitter, he wants to make the workings of the Twitter algorithm public.”

If the algorithms banned users and that ban that violated Twitter’s TOS, could we see lawsuits against Twitter?

I’m guessing you’re not a lawyer, so my question may not be appropriate for you. So, just ignore me.
