When I was a kid, we had an annual boy scout outing on a local military reservation. Most of our time was spent scouring through the woods for souvenirs. We never found anything quite that neat, but we did find a lot of smoke grenades, and fired machine gun brass and the little pieces that link them together. We would string them together and wear them across our chests like Pancho Villa. We brought home lots of great ordinance.
They eventually rolled up the welcome mat after several incidents with the smoke grenades caused them to respond with helicopters which we thought was amazing.
Same for rattlesnakes.
Not really, a bit of an exaggeration.
“The American child picked up the piece of an undetonated bomb”
“The family boarded their flight home as normal, but had to leave the shell behind.”
Two things:
1. It was a kid who picked up a pretty cool looking souvenir.
2. The Israeli airport security staff are amazingly mature and were able to sort out that this was just a youthful mistake. They confiscated the shell and let the family go on their way.
The TSA would have arrested the entire family, anally raped them, and then imprisoned them for years before allowing the case to go trial.
Fixed.
People Americans Narrowed it down further, LIBERALS can be ARE so stupid!
“They confiscated the shell and let the family go on their way.”
Except in all the excitement, they missed the unexploded land mine the kid still had in his backpack.
LOL!!!
Thanks
Seems unfair. I understand the totally unpredictable U.O. ban but at least the rattlers give you some warning.
In 1986, while deployed to Egyptian Sinai with the MFO I flew home on emergency leave when my step brother was killed. I got to David Ben-Gurion Airport at about 04:30. There were two uniformed security, one cleaning lady mopping the floor, and a ticket agent. I sat my bag down and started to the ticket counter. Two steps and I was stretched out on the floor by the two security officers and the cleaning lady had a 9MM Makarov in my ear. They patted me down, stood me up and asked “Is that your bag?” I said yes, they dumped it on the floor then told me “Hold on to your bag at all times.” I was almost afraid to surrender it at baggage check in.
They HAVE to be Floridians! lol
Was Madison Cawthorn trying to bring home a religious souvenir?
You notice how many people were running WITH their luggage?
I’da dropped that Schiff in a millisecond. My high school track coach woulda been proud of my sprint time.
a dud that could have gone off maybe.. but that is some kind of stupid
Malignant stupidity abounds in that idiot.
#33 They should let tourists take all they want so the desert is cleaned up... They must take a boat home though.
Back in 68 I was in ITR; one of the trainees picked up a dud M-79 round and it blew off his right arm and half his head.
A couple of Marines in front and behind him caught a little shrapnel but nothing to serious.
Object lesson to all hands, “DO NOT MESS WITH EXPENDED DUD MUNITIONS”!
