Possibly... I’m sure it could make room if it needed.
Americans can be so stupid
OK its wasn’t “American Tourists” it was the “child of American Tourists” or just “a child”.
That does make the story sound a bit different.
The tourists just stood saying What , what’s problem ?

No doubt a Biden voter. I can hear them now: “Oh, surely you don’t want this old thing, whatever it is. A guy wearing a kufi sold it to us at half price!”
Most likely: BidenVoters.
No one else could possibly be that idiotically STUPID.
Prime material for a Mr. Bean flick.
Back in the 80s in Utah there was a story about people camping near the national guard base. They found an M79 grenade round lying on the ground and decided to put in the campfire to see what would happen. After a bit there was an explosion. It was the propellant charge going off. As they walked to the fire the grenade itself cooked off and blew the crap out of them. No one died but they got shrapnel.
A few weeks later there’s a woman in my MIL’s kitchen talking about this. She was one of the fools who got blown up. Lol. She was all excited about the millions they were going to get suing the NG.
A few months later there was a trial and the verdict came in. The jury held the NG 2% responsible. Lol. The $ didn’t even cover the court costs. LOLOL. Morons.
When I was a kid, we had an annual boy scout outing on a local military reservation. Most of our time was spent scouring through the woods for souvenirs. We never found anything quite that neat, but we did find a lot of smoke grenades, and fired machine gun brass and the little pieces that link them together. We would string them together and wear them across our chests like Pancho Villa. We brought home lots of great ordinance.
They eventually rolled up the welcome mat after several incidents with the smoke grenades caused them to respond with helicopters which we thought was amazing.
Same for rattlesnakes.
Not really, a bit of an exaggeration.
“The American child picked up the piece of an undetonated bomb”
“The family boarded their flight home as normal, but had to leave the shell behind.”
Two things:
1. It was a kid who picked up a pretty cool looking souvenir.
2. The Israeli airport security staff are amazingly mature and were able to sort out that this was just a youthful mistake. They confiscated the shell and let the family go on their way.
The TSA would have arrested the entire family, anally raped them, and then imprisoned them for years before allowing the case to go trial.
In 1986, while deployed to Egyptian Sinai with the MFO I flew home on emergency leave when my step brother was killed. I got to David Ben-Gurion Airport at about 04:30. There were two uniformed security, one cleaning lady mopping the floor, and a ticket agent. I sat my bag down and started to the ticket counter. Two steps and I was stretched out on the floor by the two security officers and the cleaning lady had a 9MM Makarov in my ear. They patted me down, stood me up and asked “Is that your bag?” I said yes, they dumped it on the floor then told me “Hold on to your bag at all times.” I was almost afraid to surrender it at baggage check in.
They HAVE to be Floridians! lol
