On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” host Bill Maher argued that Democrats should be the “most upset” about the theft and fraudulent attainment of COVID relief money and questioned why Sens. Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) “are seen as the bad guys in their party because they looked at another multi-trillion-dollar spending bill and wondered if our government was up to the task of taking all that money and not just having it siphoned off by grifters” and spent on nonsense.

Yep. Maher is funny.
Maher, a complete lefty, is doing more with his platform than McCarthy and McConnell combined.
He’s just one of a few libs that recognizes that his party is marching straight to the edge of the cliff and might well be decimated in November. Those losses may reverberate for a long time. That’s what concerns him.
It shouldn’t. He knows his party has cheating down pat. So what is he worried about? Manchin and Sinema are considered dirtbags to most of his own party.

Bill Maher is 90% garbage. But he occasionally says something valuable, and so educates an audience that otherwise would be completely in the dark. And so I will give Maher credit for that 10% side of him.

Heard him on Joe Rogans podcast. he’s still a vitriolic leftie who despises conservatives and conservatism with every fiber of his being.

Maher actually shines in one single respect. He will take no guff when the topic is radical Islam. He’s no mushy liberal in that regard. I’ve seen clips of his show where a guest will try to excuse or explain away Muslim violence. Maher will have none of it. He pushes back, hard.
Liberal audiences need to hear just how bad Islam is. Maher is the only liberal that will talk about that.
(And yeah, I know Maher said some lousy things right after 9/11.)

Very good point. I get frustrated how conservatives love to point out when a lib like Maher agrees with them. A bigger point though is when has McConnel or McCarthy ever lead on an issue that wasn’t in the interest of the chamber of commerce. I’d say never.
This may be more elite liberal response to the current Musk impact on middle America.
In other words, "Can we stop being so stupid and arrogant in public!"
Democrats have screwed up so badly even the do-nothing Republicans now have a chance to win a few seats. ;)
Seriously, there is a growing national frustration with radical Democrat policies that will only get worse as the economy deteriorates and inflation continues to rise.
The Democrat brand is taking a beating under Biden and his radical band of rabid leftists. They are destroying the republic and most people clearly see it — and know who to hold accountable.
Leftism is a serious mental disorder, and Maher is cray-cray, though able to function on a day-to-day basis.
But like many functioning crazy people, he blurts out the truth occasionally.
He’s more of a classic liberal than a progressive. Some (a few) classic liberals are at least sane and you can have a conversation with them. Progressives are just nuts.
