The leak is the thing. It’s egregious, and clearly meant to give liberal groups almost two months before the term ends at the end of June to pressure the Court much like there was a pressure campaign against Chief Justice Roberts on Obamacare.
I’ve never seen an actual draft opinion leak from the U.S. Supreme Court. Not even what the vote will be — remember everyone waiting for the 2012 Obamacare decision and then speed reading it?
Obamacare was small potatoes compared to ABORTION. We’ve covered the Mississippi case that many speculated would result in Roe v. Wade being overturned.
Politico says it got its hands on a draft majority Opinion by Justice Alito overturning Roe v. Wade. When I first heard it, I figured it was just speculation, but Politico has the draft and it sure looks real:
The Supreme Court has voted to strike down the landmark Roe v. Wade decision, according to an initial draft majority opinion written by Justice Samuel Alito circulated inside the court and obtained by POLITICO.
The draft opinion is a full-throated, unflinching repudiation of the 1973 decision which guaranteed federal constitutional protections of abortion rights and a subsequent 1992 decision – Planned Parenthood v. Casey – that largely maintained the right. “Roe was egregiously wrong from the start,” Alito writes.
“We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,” he writes in the document, labeled as the “Opinion of the Court.” “It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.”

A shame that these deliberations have been leaked. Maybe the court rules sooner than it might otherwise. Hate to see months of bullying the court.
I wonder if the leaker can be found? If I were a justice I would use the old school method. Either fess up or you all go.

My guess is a clerk for one of the liberal justices. Will be impossible to take action because Politico reporter will definitely not name his source.

Yes indeed - as we discussed on the first thread, this leak could be nothing but deliberate sabotage to try to stop this decision from ever being made. This leak is nothing to celebrate - indeed - it could be a huge tragedy that this leak has occurred.

it is to pressure Congress, note the Court, which will be ready for it. The left wants congress to either: 1, pass a law legalizing unlimited abortion by federal statute, or 2, pack the Court asap and before the Fall elections, with Biden appointing maybe seven new seats, all leftwing killers.
