Defeating Biden’s Disinformation Governance Board

Part of the oath taken as a federal law enforcement officer includes the phrase to “defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

Our country faces mortal threats from nation states like China, Russia, and Iran to name the most prominent. However, we face mortal domestic threats, not from white supremacists, but from government officials, carrying forward tyrannical schemes in the name of public health and safety. As an FBI agent, I swore an oath to the Constitution and to protect it, not an administration, from all those who would align themselves against it. In retirement, it is my duty to inform my fellow citizens of mortal threats to their liberties though the agents of tyranny wear the sheepskin of a federal agency.

Despite the recent predations of the Biden administration, America is still the world’s preeminent superpower. However, that’s no assurance that our republic will persist into the future. Our enemies are waging war on an asymmetric, digital, non-linear battlefield with strategic perspectives that span centuries. Nationally, we have a hard time seeing beyond the next election cycle. At least, that seems to be the perspective of our Democrat Party overlords.

An agent of tyranny may have no official affiliation with a foreign enemy, but may share a world view. This kind of demi-tyrant is the most insidious—it is the maximal danger of our time. We’re creating our own Stalinists and ensconcing them in the federal bureaucracy where they may conduct their nefarious work for decades. They are energized by the conviction that the blissful state of equity lies just beyond the next set of federal directives, enforced through the unyielding mechanism of oversight. These statists perpetrate evil oblivious to their cruelty.

Left-wing bureaucrats are inoculated against rational thought and the principles of inalienable rights — forearmed by progressivist ideology, dismissing the specters of our founders by low grunting the chant of “racism.”

Nina Jankowicz is this kind of bureaucrat and she is all the more dangerous because she believes censorship can be made to serve democracy. Her ideology blinds her to the mounting pyre she’s constructing for a colossal digital book burning.

Jankowicz is the Executive Director of the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Disinformation Governance Board. Even the title of her office is Orwellian — it is an existential threat to our liberties — a domestic enemy of the Constitution. Much has already been said about Jankowicz, her bizarre behavior, and her radical views about free speech. She has written extensively and advocated for government censorship of social media platforms.

Her views defy the First Amendment which states, “Congress shall make NO LAW…abridging the freedom of speech” (emphasis mine). Simply put, Congress is not authorized to create any law which limits free speech. There is no congressional exception to this. Nor does the executive branch, which is not empowered to make law — only to execute it — possess the power to limit speech. Any attempt to do so, directly or indirectly, is unconstitutional on its face. Of course, Marxists like Jankowicz don’t concern themselves with the quaint expressions of dead white men. They have more pressing concerns, like hunting down purveyors of “disinformation,” whatever that means.

Neither Jankowicz or the DHS Secretary, Alejandro Mayorkas, have bothered to define “disinformation,” though it forms the title of the latest Democrat attempt to silence dissent. Apparently, you just know it when you see it. And, we’re to be satisfied with Mayorkas’ confidence in Jankowicz’s judiciousness and moral compass — no further questions please. The Democrat Party’s panic has become so intense they’ve dropped all pretense to traditional liberal sensibilities and have gone full Stalin.

Jankowicz and her fledgling Ministry of Truth must be torn from the federal structure root and branch. Power for someone like Jankowicz is like sugar to cancer and the best way to stop metastasizing is to cut off the flow of sugar. And when it comes to federal agencies, Congress is the whale of sugar-daddies.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki recently claimed that the Disinformation Governance Board is a continuation of DHS’ Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). The FY 2023 budget request for DHS’s CISA is $2.5 billion dollars. If that’s any indication, Biden’s Ministry of Truth will be a colossus of intelligence collection and First Amendment suppression.

However, bureaucratic Goliaths can still be slain with a sling and a stone, but it takes principled individuals to take up the cause. The United States House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security is responsible for authorizing appropriations that fund the Disinformation Governance Board. Without funding, Biden and Jankowicz’s little shop of horrors collapses into a heap. The House Appropriations Subcommittee shares jurisdiction with the Senate Committee on Appropriations. So, citizens concerned with their First Amendment liberties should avail themselves of the power they possess to vote and engage with their representatives.

Each member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee for Homeland Security may be found here. Also, each member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations may be found here. If we are to keep our liberties, we all must be willing to get involved. A friend and associate of mine, Katie Pavlich, once said, “you may not be interested in politics, but politics is interested in you.”

You may not think involvement is for you, but sooner or later, Jankowicz and her goons will come knocking on your door.

The Disinformation Governance Board cannot be allowed to receive funding and be used as a tool of the unhinged, Marxist left. They may not be wearing armbands and piling physical books onto blazing fires, but they’re certainly looking over your shoulder with cold, electric eyes and compiling lists of naughty thinkers.

It has to be snuffed out. By any means necessary.

Often institutions are named after famous people as a way to honor them. For example, we have Harvard University and the Fermi Labs.

So I suggest that this new agency be called the “Goebbels Disinformation Governance Board”.

Assuming the new Ministry of Truth will take public input on dangerous rumors this constitutes a choke-the-horse moment. If ten thousand people each day email reports of suspect misinformation it might just make any actual work impossible.
