An enraged Ukrainian man stabbed a compatriot for speaking Russian at a Brooklyn bar in a booze-fueled spat that’s now being investigated as a hate crime, The Post has learned.
Andrii Meleshkov, who was born and raised in Eastern Ukraine and has a Russian mother, said he was at Signature karaoke bar in Sheepshead Bay celebrating a friend’s birthday last Monday when Oleg Sulyma, 31, sat down at his table and started hurling “profanities” at him and his buddies.
“You look Russian,” Sulyma, who is Ukrainian, sneered, according to prosecutors.

Heard some guys speaking with accents that sounded Ukrainian or Russian (roughly) a few nights ago.
A couple of customers seemed to be talking about it. I didn’t care the details.
It was a strange night with lots of strange things happening. Including the clerk at the gas station shorting me the $5 I paid to top off my gas tank (as I do almost daily now).
She denied doing anything wrong and claimed I bought something I definitely did NOT buy. They charged me twice so I demanded my extra $5 and told the manager to pull the video of me pointing to the screens at my car they corrected everything.
The clerk was not pleased which makes me wonder if it was an accident.
That was about the 5th thing to go haywire that night and I was headed downtown late at night to put in some extra work.
I skipped it instead, after all the strange stuff.
