Republicans have increased their lead to seven points over Democrats on a generic ballot, according to the most recent Fox News poll.
If the midterm elections were held today, 46 percent of voters would support the Republican candidate compared to just 39 percent for the Democrat candidate in their congressional district.

For those not familiar with history, Democrats lead by 5 points in such polling when the race is even.

But but Roe versus Wade!!! šš The problem for democrats on running on Roe v. Wade, is the voters that feel strongly enough that abortion should be legal to go vote in November were already likely voting democrat anyway, I suppose it could help slightly energize democrat voters who might otherwise have sat at home. But any impact will be minimal at best.

" I suppose it could help slightly energize democrat voters who might otherwise have sat at home. But any impact will be minimal at best." Ahh, but impact doesn't matter. The day after they STEAL the election AGAIN, they will claim that they won because every voter was angry at republicans for "outlawing abortion!"

That may be true and it's not that I don't appreciate the magnitude of this; it's just difficult to understand how it can be that democrats get a single vote, let alone nearly half the electorate.
What do these people see that I don't?

But but Roe versus Wade!!! This poll was taken prior to the leaked draft opinion.
Look for the generic ballot race to tighten when the polling is done after May 2nd.

That’s the big story. Supposedly Democrats will come out in droves to vote for their genitals even if it means they will go hungry from food price inflation.

Iām sure this poll was well before the leak. Next week polling will say everything.

Forget the polls. When it comes time to put the ballot(s) in the box, the dems will do what dems do . . . vote for a dem. This includes all the so-called independents who are oh so dang smart.

...and a Fox News poll at that. It usually favors the Democrats, so IMHO the margin is bigger than what this poll indicates. Also IMHO this is why the Democrats sprung the Supreme Court leak.
