Marcuse Provides the Excuse for Obama’s Stanford Speech
Human Events ^ | May 2, 2022 | Joseph D'Hippolito

It’s one thing for perpetual adolescents to complain about a billionaire purchasing their favorite social media toy. It’s quite another for a former president and a former secretary of state to advocate destroying democracy in order to save democracy.

But Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton did just that recently.

On April 21, Obama spoke at a symposium Stanford’s Cyber Policy Center organized to address the problems social media pose. Among his recommendations, the former president advocated increased government regulation to combat what he called “toxic information,” which he defined as “lies, conspiracy theories, junk science, quackery, White supremacist, racist tracts, misogynist screeds.”

“You just have to raise enough questions, spread enough dirt, plant enough conspiracy theorizing that citizens no longer know what to believe,” Obama said. “Once they lose trust in their leaders, in mainstream media, in political institutions, in each other, in the possibility of truth, the game’s won.”

Not to be outdone, Clinton tweeted the same day her support for the European Union’s Digital Services Act, a series of measures that “sets for the first time the rules on how Big Tech should keep users safe online,” especially concerning “misinformation or propaganda in light of Covid-19,” the Financial Times reported.

“For too long, tech platforms have amplified disinformation and extremism with no accountability,” Clinton tweeted. “The EU is poised to do something about it. I urge our transatlantic allies to push the Digital Services Act across the finish line and bolster global democracy before it’s too late.”

Not for nothing did Obama and Clinton express their positions as Elon Musk attempted to buy Twitter, increasingly known for arbitrarily ejecting users who express inconvenient opinions that contradict “woke” ideology or the Democrats’ policies.

Herbert Marcuse introduced the concept of “repressive tolerance,” which the Left embraced and has been using for years. KTF.

Like hope and change. And fundamentally transforming America.

The Dems are pushing for full fascist control, they aren’t even trying to disguise it now.

“For too long, tech platforms have amplified disinformation and extremism with no accountability,” Clinton tweeted.

Clinton didn't tweet anything.

One of her teeny-bopper minions tweeted the BS for her.

Repressive tolerance?

The Ministry of Love can be in charge.

It’ll be awesome.

Herbert Marcuse introduced the concept of “repressive tolerance,”

...leading to the corollary of exclusive "inclusivity".

Exactly. The concept morphed and metastasized into the vile cancer that has now spread everywhere. KTF.

The same ones who argue that Larry Flynt and pornography are protected first amendment activities want to restrict and control the speech of ordinary citizens.

Now that they have special protections for LGBT, they want to label any disagreement or dissent as “hate speech”.

Next they will label any support for laws like the “Parental Rights in Education” bill as misinformation/hate speech or whatever label needed to suppress it.

They want to literally force pedophilia on our society by eliminating free speech.

During the sexual revolution of the 60s, few would have believed it would lead to murdering babies and selling them for body parts, homosexuals being able to be adoptive/foster parents in all 50 states, the redefinition of marriage with legal destruction on anyone who openly challenges it.

Normalization of pedophilia is next.

Musk’s purchase of Twitter has the corrupt democrats soiling in their diapers. What has them so worried? Is it what Musk will find out or is it the loss of control over information? Could be both those things. Toxic information is any true information that hurts corrupt democrats.

In the 1970s I actually saw Herbert Marcuse speak at a university graduation. What was humorous, is that when he was finished, he lit up a cigarette while still on stage. I read a few of books, that I only understood 20%.

Anyone who read them 90-100% was a fool that wasted their time. Marcuse was a lefty superstar back then..

You only understood 20% because he is full of Marxist tripe that makes no sense. Marcuse wrote a little like Keynes, a bunch of illogical nonsense, concluding with a soundbite that his disciples could latch on to and pretend to be enlightened.

The Marcuse of today is the World Economic Forum's Klaus Schwaub, only he's far more dangerous.

We're in the third quarter, the Marxists are winning, and driving after knocking out Trump with a cheap shot. Trump is on the sidelines and aching to get back in the game. DeSantis is defending his side of the line, but McConnell and McCarthy keep getting run over.

I'm really not much of a fan of lies, conspiracies, and misinformation. But the government is the last institution I trust to monitor this. Big Tech is the next group I distrust. After that, the media and academia.

The bigger problems isn't the lies, it's that our formerly trusted institutions have been completely taken over by partisan forces.

We're much better using common sense, and finding trusted independent sources on our own that allowing any organization assume the role of arbiter of truth.
