3 Americans were found dead on Great Exuma island on Friday
--------------------------------
Police in the Bahamas have identified the three Americans Monday who were found dead late last week at the Sandals Emerald Bay resort on Great Exuma island.
The deceased were confirmed as Michael Phillips, 68, Robbie Phillips, 65 of Tennessee, and Vincent Chiarella, 64, of Florida. Donnis Chiarella, Vincent’s wife, is said to be in stable condition after being airlifted to a hospital in Miami over the weekend.
"If you want the most beautiful long private beach with clear blue water and you like to hear the waves lapping, see sand dunes and hear the seagulls talking -- this is it!" read the most recent post on a Facebook page purportedly belonging to Robbie Phillips, dated Thursday afternoon. The bodies were found on Friday.

there’s enough different things to see right here in the U.S., I don’t need to go anywhere else.
I concur.
I’d suspect food poisoning.
Certain Mexican resorts have killed guests with locally brewed alcohol served in their bars in the past.
IIRC, the last time this sort of “deaths at resort” rolled around, it was tainted booze. Wood alcohol, methanol, is quite dangerous to ingest.
Hell, there’s plenty of places here in the US I won’t go.
Don’t forget the family of four who were paralyzed from a toxic insect repellent used in a condo below theirs……about 6 years ago
They received 87 million
One of the islands
OR illegal alcohol.................. methanol substituted for ethanol?...........
Could have also been ammonia. A very effective and cheap replacement for Freon used in the AC units. My first thought was alcohol, but the cheap Freon substitute is a possibility.
Yep, that would do it, too.
Different topic, but ...
My grandmother immigrated here from England when she was 6 years old. She came across in April 1912. Everyone told her father that it was too dangerous — the Titanic had just gone down after hitting an iceberg. My great-grandfather told them, “It’s a good time to go — everyone will be looking out and making sure no mistakes are made.”
I figure this is a good time to go to a resort. They’re probably being extra careful.
All the people mentioned were in a duplex type villa. I now suspect some kind of carbon monoxide poisoning type incident.
The difference was that was cheap all inclusive resorts in Mexico and the Dominican.
These deaths were at a Sandals Resort. They are not cheap places to go.
However, there is always the greed factor. Pour the cheap bootleg liquor into the name brand expensive bottles.
The old saying goes, you get what you pay for.
I believe some of the sicknesses were attributed to spraying insecticide outside of the villa/hotel people were staying in.
I think that was in the Dominican Republic, if I remember correctly.
See Sandals Emerald Bay and die.

Don’t assume they care or even know about this incident. Changes cost money and surely there are some that will take the risks.
Anyone rember the Korki sisters who both died in a resort in the Seychelles? Drug overdoses. Very very sad.
Ammonia?? Did not know that.
One of the comments at the link said the ac units are propane powered- speculating there was a leak and they died from that. We’ll see.
