CNN Fact Checker Slams Biden’s Claim That He Reduced Federal Deficit

CNN’s fact checker Daniel Dale pushed back on President Biden’s recent claim that his policies had helped to reduce the federal deficit – revealing that one expert told him that the Democrat’s assertion was “almost bizarro world” in its misrepresentation of the situation.

“Let me remind you again: I reduced the federal deficit,” Biden said a speech last Wednesday. “All the talk about the deficit from my Republican friends, I love it. I’ve reduced $350 billion in my first year in office.”

Biden made the claim while touting his administration’s economic track record – despite fierce criticism from Republican lawmakers who argue his policies have contributed to rampant inflation and led the US economy to the brink of a recession.

Yes, even CNN couldn’t stop laughing at that claim.

"The federal government ran a deficit of $193 billion in March 2022, an improvement of $467 billion from the deficit that was recorded in March 2021. This March, outlays were $419 billion lower than they were in the same month last year, and revenues were $48 billion higher. The large reduction in outlays was the result of lower spending on three coronavirus-related programs: recovery rebates, unemployment compensation, and the Paycheck Protection Program.

Jimmy Carter didn’t lie like this…Joe is solidifying “worst president ever” status. You wonder how a Democrat today can keep from blushing at the admission that they voted for this.

Well, deficit spending did go down with Biden, because, republicans refused to allow the Build-Back-Better plan to get passed.

With democrats, if spending didn’t go up, then, the spending went down from what it would have been if the spending had been allowed.

Thus, Biden’s spending did go down by some 3-5 trillion dollars because, he wasn’t allowed to spend that money, therefore, ‘he’ saved (with the help of republicans and Manchin) all that money.

Biden also saved some 10 million Americans from death, because, he forced them to stay home and get vaccinated. What would have happened, becomes the real numbers with democrats.

Now, they want to save hundreds of millions of babies from a life of misery, by allowing abortions in the whole U.S.

Democrats also want to save the planet by killing fossil-fuels (never mind the killing of the American economy while saving the planet). Again, it’s what ‘would’ve happened’ in the minds of democrats that count, not the reality.

How blatantly does a Democrat have to lie to be called out by their biggest cheerleader, CNN?

a tiny amount for some people. Even less than Bush. And some people’s taxes went up. We haven’t had a real tax cut in this country since the 80’s.

Deficit reduction for a Liberal means instead of increasing spending by 15%, they only increase it by 10%, then blaming Republicans for all the perceived ills of the county because they wouldn’t let them spend the other 5%. Then they find a way to spend it anyway.

That’s not true, Obama reduced the deficit. Say what you want about him but he actually managed to lower the deficit to something manageable, which trump decided to instantly explode 500% in 4 years.

Even before covid trump was exploding the deficit.

Obama took office with a 1500 billion deficit left with around .5 trillion(500 billion)
Trump took office with 500 billion deficit and left with a 3000 billion, even if you take out the COVID spike he still was in the process of doubling it.

If you want more trump don’t pretend to be a fiscal conservatives, you support big government spending and deficits as much libs do. At least they are honest and open about it and don’t run on getting spending under control

What does it mean for a conservatives?🤣 especially when Obama was better for the deficit than trump.

Even before covid trump was exploding the deficit.

Obama took office with a 1500 billion deficit left with around .5 trillion(500 billion)
Trump took office with 500 billion deficit and left with a 3000 billion, even if you take out the COVID spike he still was in the process of doubling it.

All I want is a real fiscal conservative to get some popularity and run in 2024. Trump and Biden and all the other big government reckless spenders are responsible for the mess we are in now with inflation. Words don’t matter I look at actions and their actions show the truth.
