Considering that Secretary Austin called Putin to ask for a cease fire, maybe sending these weapons makes sense, as they will lead to an earlier end to the war.

I don’t believe the headline.
The complaints about the T-72 tanks from Poland being inferior to the older T-64s were coming from Ukraine’s own military forces on social media, which prompted the Ukr General Staff to issue orders forbidding public criticism of foreign military hardware.
The Javelin missile is not armed right out of the tube, so that might explain why it bounced off the Russian tank. Probably needs a few seconds of flight time.
