I think you take lyrics wayyyyy too seriously and miss the entire point of the song. Are you familiar with the Police’s “Every Breath You Take” ? Do you think it is a wonderful love song ??? Lots of people do and it was a hugely popular song at weddings. According to Gordon Sumner “Sting” who wrote the song, It actually is written from the point of view of an obsessive stalker. Believe it or not, song lyrics and poetry are not always to be taken literally.
