CANNES, France (AP) — The 75th Cannes Film Festival kicked off Tuesday with an eye turned to Russia’s war in Ukraine and a live satellite video address from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who called on a new generation of filmmakers to confront dictators as Charlie Chaplin satirized Adolf Hitler.
After tributes and musical numbers, Zelenskyy was streamed live for the formally attired audience who had gathered for the premiere of Michel Hazanavicius’ zombie comedy “Final Cut.”

Zelesnky is losing. If he was referring to himself, he’s got a point.
Says the guy who has banned all opposition parties on either side of the spectrum. In that case, let’s hope he’s right and the dictator (that would be Zelensky) does fall and does it soon. Before he and Biden have caused WWIII.

Agree, which is why Defense Secretary Austin called up Russia to ask for a cease fire, not to mention Mariupol surrendering.
The funny thing is that while everybody is watching Azov, the same thing is happening all around the southeast front.
And all you hear in the media are some fictional Ukrainian victories in battles that even didn’t take place.

Agree, I see the same. Those are BATTLES that Ukraine is losing, while Ukrainian ‘advances’ don’t even involve combat (rather, the Russians pull back, and Ukraine moves in). But the facts on the ground don’t seem to make it to Western media. I suspect when the $40B is finally approved, the Western media will get somewhat more truthful, as they don’t want the West to wake up in 2 weeks to find that Ukraine surrendered to Russian demands, when their ‘experts’ kept insisting that Ukrainian victory was just around the corner.
Kind of hurts them in the future.
In all honesty, I fail to see where the $40 billion comes to. The trash currently unloaded on Ukraine in “aid” doesn’t worth a fraction of it.
