Republican voters turned out in droves to participate in the North Carolina primaries and surpassed Democrat participation — even though there are more registered Democrat voters in the state.

Analysis of voter data by the Republican National Committee (RNC) after Tuesday’s elections revealed Republican voters cast roughly 150,000 more votes than Democrats 758,637 to 612,645. GOP turnout was “86 percent higher than 2018 and nearing 2020 levels,” RNC Deputy National Press Secretary William O’Grady told Breitbart News.

I like it too. However, democrats didn’t really have a primary since they pretty much gave the primary to the lady who won. The others dropped out except one who didn’t even kick a rock to try to win.

“That’s 60/40%.....MONUMENTAL!”

In North Carolina voters “unaffiliated” with a political party (think independents) can choose either a Republican or Democrat ballot when they vote in a primary. If the unaffiliated voter chooses to vote a Republican ballot, that ballot is the same ballot a Republican party member receive. Therefore the 60% Republican includes independents, not just Republicans.

In the 2020 election Trump beat Biden in NC in a squeaker — 49.93% to 48.59%.

Turnout in the 2022 primary election in NC was light at 20% of registered voters but higher than the 14% in 2018, the most recent non-presidential primary election. In 2020, a presidential election year, the primary turnout was 31%.

Those percentages are irrelevant. The dems stole that election.

“Those percentages are irrelevant. The dems stole that election.”

In North Carolina what was stolen? Trump won the presidential vote in NC in 2020, Thom Tillis was reelected as a GOP US Senator, the GOP candidate Mark Robinson was elected Lt. Governor, and the in the race for Chief Justice of the NC Supreme Court the GOP candidate beat the Democrat candidate. In major statewide races, only the Governor’s race and Attorney General’s race went Democrat. Roy Cooper was the incumbent Democrat governor and was reelected. The incumbent Democrat also won the Attorney General race by a very tight margin.

The major election fraud scandal in NC in 2020 involved Republicans, not Democrats. A Republican operative, Leslie McCrae Dowless, was charged with three felony counts of obstruction of justice, two counts of conspiring to commit obstruction of justice and two counts of possession of absentee ballots, according to court documents. As a result of the cheating, involving absentee ballots, the election for the 9th District US House seat had to be rerun. FYI, the Republican won the special election to fill the seat after the first vote was thrown out by the Board of Elections.

Yeah, that was my district. The ballot harvester in that case had worked for both Republican and Democrat campaigns in the past. The funny thing is the Democrat dominated NC election board threw out that election results (a Republican win) even though the ballot harvesting that took place was for a tiny amount of votes that was not enough to alter the outcome. They said any fraud meant the whole thing was tainted and needed to be done over.

I could actually understand their reasoning. Fortunately state rep Dan Bishop defeated Democrat Dan McReady who had gotten rich collecting government subsidies for “green” energy.

Funny how the same logic did not apply to the presidential election in 2020 just a year later when there was a ton of ballot harvesting - definitely more than would have been necessary to call the entire election into doubt. Of course Democrats said it was justified when it went their way both times (ie re-do the election/don’t you dare even question the election) even though it was the exact opposite reasoning.

Keep this caveat in mind; primary elections are normally not particitated in as heavily as general elections. My take is that in the GOP the base is trying to remake the party, and from that comes the higher enthusiasm among GOP voters. The Dim voters are there and they will come out in higher numbers in the general election - the media will see to it.
