Harley-Davidson is suspending manufacturing for two weeks and has shut down operations in Wisconsin and York, Pennsylvania due to supply chain issues.

The shutdown affects the Harley plant in Menomonee Falls.

According to a company press release, the decision was made "out of an abundance of caution, is based on information provided by a third-party supplier to Harley-Davidson late on Tuesday concerning a regulatory compliance matter relating to the supplier’s component part.”

The news sank Harley's stock price nearly 9% shortly before Thursday’s market open. Shares closed at $32.43, down 9.3%.

In York, Harley announced the company would also suspend production at the plant in the Springettsbury Township for two weeks.

The production suspension excludes Harley's new LiveWire electric bike.

Closing a plant for two weeks is different than opening a plant in two weeks. One happens and the other is optimism.

"...concerning a regulatory compliance matter relating to the supplier’s component part.” Sounds to me like we need an "I did that" sticker, because we'd be likely to be correct if we assumed it was something that was totally worthless, not needed, ill-affecting....and, well, coming from the technically and morally clueless left. Could wrong. Betcha not.

concerning a regulatory compliance matter relating to the supplier’s component part.

In sum, caused by government and over-regulation

Made in America?

But then again I don’t ride and actually wouldn’t know.

This may piss off the Hells Angels and other biker groups that are almost and if not all Harley riders thinking that Jap PRC bikes are not legit:-)

One of our local dealers has, according to their website, 5 new bikes. 5.

I've been looking to test, and maybe buy, a 2022 Low Rider S with the 117 engine as a garage mate to my 7,000 mile Triumph Tiger Explorer XC.

Fuggedaboutit.

Heh! Got up brushed myself off and rode away. Only my pride hurt. Just a few bent parts on the Honda.

I had a ‘65 Honda 305 Scrambler, in college back in the late 60s, that I dumped a couple of times, but never as a result of a stunt. I wasn’t that good. Heh.
