Again, this shows the need to address MENTAL ILLNESS. Serious treatment, even institutionalization if that is called for. Otherwise, it will be trying to make the whole country safe from them—removing guns, knives, cars, bats, etc.—just like we might around a 2 year hold. Until we get serious about mental illness, we’ll see repeats of this.

This would be a classic age for early-onset schizophrenia.

But the enemidia will blame the guns and the NRA.

Sometimes they are just evil. But everyone seems to call these people out after the shooting instead of before.

Be careful what you ask for. If Biden gets his mental health act, most of the readers of this forum would be institutionalized. Probably no more than 10% need it.

“Serious treatment, even institutionalization if that is called for.”

That’s expensive. Our government already spends a lot of money to help those who our government has decided can’t help themselves. That’s medical, food, housing, free cellphones.

"Again, this shows the need to address MENTAL ILLNESS"

We could start off with all the members of the ChiComjoe kakistocracy.

get serious about mental illness

Sorry, but what does it mean to "get serious about mental illness"? Everyone is already serious about mental illness. No one makes jokes about it or takes it lightly, say, like they used to in the 1970s or 80s.

Even how we refer to them has changed, and there are thousands of programs out there, many free, for people suffering from mental illness.

There are constant PSAs about suicide hotlines, mental help resources and so on, on radio stations and TV commercials.

Most corporations offer some kind of mental health resources. So I don't know what else society can do in the name of "getting serious" about this. It seems that contemporary society in the 3rd decade of the 21st century takes mental illness very seriously.

“It is the second deadliest shooting in US history after the infamous Sandy Hook massacre in 2012 - which saw 26 people killed “

Las Vegas, the body count was 61 dead.

In Oklahoma City in 1995, 168 were killed with a homemade truck bomb.

Las Vegas, 61

Oklahoma City, 168. Truck bombs beat guns, even guns with bump stocks. Both of them beat Sandy Hook by a mile.

Blimy. Get your facts straight, limies.
