The manufacturer of an AR-15-style assault rifle that Salvador Ramos used to kill 19 kids and two teachers has been slammed for posting an online ad featuring a toddler clutching a similar weapon just days before the massacre.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it,” Daniel Defense wrote in the ad shared on Twitter on May 16, eight days before the slaughter at Robb Elementary School.
The line refers to a proverb in the Bible.

And? Teaching kids about firearms safety and how to shoot safely while they’re young is a good thing. But, you also need teach them that killing innocents is wrong.
The blame game continues......all to point the fingers at guns rather than a derranged murdering shooter who certainly knew right from wrong and planned what he did.
Albertan here, so keep in mind we make Texans look tame, but I don’t see any issue. It’s promoting education about firearms and encouraging a heritage tempered with protecting. A man should know these things. Timing likely not good, but instead how about we focus on why cops wouldn’t go in for 40 mins, why a back door was unlocked, how they basically escorted him to the school and the cop who confronted him and backed off right away. It’s almost as if they wanted this happen. No way right?
Also the only school in the area that didn’t allow teachers to carry. Hmmm.
The “Consider your Man Card reissued” ad didn’t do a whole heck of a lot for the national dialog, either.
“This edgy marketing nonsense is not helpful to anyone.”
But reposting it here somehow is? Not relevant to what happened.
I see nothing wrong with this ad.

Normally I would take offense (not offence) to that comment, but I will give you a pass this time because I really like Banff.
From my perspective, any castigation about ‘timing’ needs to fall on the perpetrator of the crime, unless DEMOCRATS now want everyone but them to be The Amazing Kreskin (ala Johnny Carson days on TV).
Children absolutely should learn how to shoot.
“Not relevant to what happened.“
Not much is.
Remington recently reached a $73 million settlement with the Sandy Hook parents over Bushmaster AR advertising (a Remington company at the time.)
If DD did make such an ad, they’re probably going to be sued by Everytown on behalf of the Robb Elementary school parents.
What kind of froot are you?
“Lee Greenwood, Larry Gatlin, and Larry Stewart have all pulled out of performing at the National Rifle Association (NRA) convention in response to the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, that left 19 children and two teachers dead.”
White Men not only can’t jump, but it appears they won’t fight either. Land of The Free Home of The Brave? Not anymore.
“I’m proud to be an American at least i know i’m freeee....”
barf.
Don't remember ever being explicitly taught that, certainly not in the context of marksmanship training.
But I guess I learned it somehow, since I never shot up a school, nor did any of my cohorts.
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it,”
Wise advice! Sounds almost Biblical somehow.
Obviously they were not marketing to toddlers. They were marketing to parents by accurately pointing out that if parents do not teach their children then someone else will.
Was this guy upset about having WiFi shut off because he was getting $$$$$ and/
