It was 11:28 a.m. when the Ford pickup slammed into a ditch behind the low-slung Texas school and the driver jumped out carrying an AR-15-style rifle.
Twelve minutes after that, authorities say, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos was in the hallways of Robb Elementary School. Soon he entered a fourth-grade classroom. And there, he killed 19 schoolchildren and two teachers in a still-unexplained spasm of violence.
At 12:58 p.m., law enforcement radio chatter said Ramos had been killed and the siege was over.
What happened in those 90 minutes, in a working-class neighborhood near the edge of the little town of Uvalde, has fueled mounting public anger and scrutiny over law enforcement’s response to Tuesday’s rampage.

URGENT and QUICK Emergencies, none of us use large dosis of LOGIC, it is usually a quick response. Seeing all the cops go to prison, for applying the law, in a split second they reach for a gun, thinking it was a taser. I would not want to be at all a police officer with the COURTS ruling in favor of criminals. I’d be thinking it over twice. This won’t turn out well. We have George Floyd to thank for this as well.
Did the teacher that left the door propped open get killed?
Pete Arredondo was the Commander who made decision not to send 19 other
officers to kill the Teen Tranny. He should be held accountable for his actions.
Parents were begging police to go in. They had the right instincts but not the
skill sets. Police had right skill sets but wrong instincts.
Shots being fired by Ramos for an hour.
I don’t think he’s been heard from. You would think in Texas that the county sheriff would have taken charge of the scene, not some school night watchman.
What in the absolute **** happened,
Asterisks mine.
I have no law enforcement training or knowledge, but from my armchair, wouldn’t one of the first moves be to put a fiber optic camera up to the window from the exterior of that room to see how things were configured? If they saw the carnage inside, I suspect they would have gone instantly. But perhaps their protocols assume it’s time for hostage negotiations, etc. If that is true, it’s time to change protocols.
This incident should take the wind out of the sails of gun control legislation as a solution. “When seconds count the police are just minutes away” has been validated by this horrible event. And the implication of that is the polar opposite of gun-free school zones.
I thought it was a different teacher. But that’s a good question. No one has mentioned her name.
Seems like I read she ran back to room #132. That’s not one of the rooms where the guy killed the kids/teachers.
According to what I have read the school was on lock down before the door was propped open because of gun shots being heard nearby. That needs to be added to any timeline of the events.
Like the old saying goes, when you need police now, they’re only a half hour away.
Defend yourself and take care of your own family and friends. depend on no one!
“...fiber optic camera...”
Might be a bit fancy for small-town Texas.
I think officers were getting kids ‘out of the classrooms thru windows’ because the last shooter went from room to room shooting kids and teachers.
How did this kid get $5,000 plus to buy the weapons, sights and ammo? Anyhow know?
I hoping you had an answer but glad to have you with me on it being a good question. :)
Sad.
