A Data-Based Solution for America’s Bloody Gun Epidemic
New York Post ^ | 5/27 | Brian Rosenwald

Posted on 05/28/2022 11:55:14 AM PDT by nickcarraway

Tighter background checks. Red-flag laws. An assault-weapons ban. Bans on high-capacity ammunition magazines.

Democrats push the same set of policy prescriptions after each horrific mass shooting like Tuesday’s massacre of 19 children and two teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. Each time, Republicans claim that the problem isn’t guns, take umbrage at infringing upon Americans’ Second Amendment rights and stymie any move to even try to prevent future carnage.

But as we suffer through yet another anguishing episode in our epidemic of gun violence, unique to the US, it’s time for a new idea — one based in evidence and data. Age-based restrictions that keep guns away from young men offer our best hope for addressing a genuine crisis and saving lives.

More guns, less crime.

Fewer guns, more crime.

Fact: Guns prevent an estimated 2.5 million crimes a year or 6,849 every day. Most often, the gun is never fired and no blood (including the criminal’s) is shed.

Sorry, but a database system is just another worthless meaningless effort to try and curb the violence ongoing in America. It’s just a Band-Aid approach.

Unless and until America returns to its senses and returns to God; unless and until Americans reject liberalism in all its evil forms, we will never begin to solve the hatred, violence, racism and other societal evils that are so typical and normal here in the 21st-century.

Liberalism is truly a mental disorder. And it cannot be doubted for a minute that liberalism has given us these mass shootings that are happening so frequently.

Zero mass shootings at schools where CCW is allowed, including for staff members who wish to carry, and at which the fact of staff possibly being armed is posted outside the school. Zero. This policy can be enacted next week, and doesn’t involve the violation of anyone’s rights.

Amen. What happened in Uvalde it’s almost a complete repeat of what happened in Parkland. And 40, 50, 100 cops on the scene actually made things much worse.

I’m a little conflicted. It would make such a difference if some if not most teachers were taught how to effectively carry and shoot. What if there were five or 10 teachers at Robb Elementary who were armed and who were able to stop that sick pervert.

Yet after reading that one teacher actually propped open the door after the lockdown order was issued causes me to wonder if some of these silly little gals would actually start shooting the children in an emergency by mistake.

While that might be a scary possibility, it still would probably be a better solution than 100 cops standing around outside freaking out and doing nothing.

Lets get the criminals out of office first and work form there. Fewer politicians fewer crimes.

The database system is just another method of tracking people and violating all sorts of rights.

What “gun epidemic?”

Correct. We already have a database system. And you and I and all gun owners are already on it. We are already on an FBI watchlist if we own registered weapons. Even more so as we are white supremacists.

Think about other mass murderers. Think about the Parkland shooting. Think about the queer nightclub shooting. Think about the San Bernardino Christmas shooting. Think about the Boston marathon shooting. Think about Sandy Hook. Think about dozens of other psycho killers who all had one thing in common: they were already on an FBI watchlist.

Laws prohibiting possession of firearms by those over 21 might run into constitutional issues, but what about making all gun possession illegal under 21, and requiring those between 21 and 25 to undergo mental-health evaluations before purchasing a firearm? This would avoid placing limitations on older Americans who pose less risk, and it would be more likely to survive legal scrutiny because the evidence is so overwhelming that these restrictions would apply directly to the population most responsible for the carnage routinely shattering families and communities. Most importantly, such laws would have kept both the Uvalde and Buffalo shooters from buying their guns.

Military - 18 - big guns. Gonna change military age to 21 too? Stupid article.

If aged based restrictions are OK, what about race based restrictions? Would such so-called “common sense gun restrictions” be Constitutional under a Chief Justice Robert’s purview of a flexible Constitution?

Pass a law making it illegal for teachers to prop open the security doors at schools.

No home schoolers were shot this week.

Any proposal that excludes fathers in the home is not serious.

Their gun control isn’t about saving lives but preserving their power grab. Was there ever a Socialist or Communist take over that first didn’t disarm the law abiding citizens and progress into a blood bath for non-supporters?

You can have millions of security guards and all the equipment in the world, but you’ll still have tragedies if people don’t follow the safety rules.

Teachers left doors open.

That is where the problem is.

The outstanding fact is that we have made at least two whole whole generations unfamiliar with guns and how to use them.

What we need to do is to embed a complete course of education in the Second Amendment and personal firearms for self-protectionthat is apolitical.

Doing this will deny the misusers of firearms from the power of unwarranted stupidity and terror of their potential victims. The perpetrators of mass shootings are singularities in an otherwise very effective block to their basic need for gun-free zones in which they alone can operate freely without immediate opposition.

Nothing else works in the aggregation of humans.

The unavoidable conclusion is that:

TO HAVE A MASS SHOOTING, FIRST THERE MUST EXIST A MASS OF GUN-IGNORANT UNARMED HUMANS!

I don't know why the massive American population just CAN'T FIGURE THIS OUT!
