ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — One of the bidders in an oil and gas lease sale for the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge last year has canceled the lease it bought, the U.S. Interior Department said.

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management last summer said it was moving ahead with a new environmental review of oil and gas leasing in the refuge after Interior Secretary Deb Haaland said she found “multiple legal deficiencies” in a previous review that provided a basis for the lease sale.

Regenerate Alaska, a subsidiary of Australia-based 88 Energy Ltd., was one of three entities that won leases during the sale held in the waning days of the Trump administration.

Will the democrats use this to “prove” “Big Oil” just wants to keep costs up so profits remain high?

Probably.

However, it’s good to know WHY they cancelled the lease.

We’re never going to learn that from the Associated Press.

They say they contacted the company, but the company won’t talk to them.

Can anyone blame them? AP is a well-known dis/misinformation organ of the Deep State Left.

In other words, the U.S. Bureau of Land Management has made it impossible to get through the red tape and produce a profit. No they will blame the companies for the massive fall in energy production and price increase.

Why keep or pay for a lease you won’t be allowed to drill?

This is destruction of an industry by intent.

Just having a lease is the beginning

You have to spend a ton of money to build the oil wells.

Wo would dare put money into that now?

Biden’s war on fossil fuels is contracting the economy. There will be more poverty, hunger and inflation. There will also be much more gun violence as people become desperate and more crazy.

before that, once you have the least, you need more permits to explore and drill.

something Brandon is NOT approving.

You’re exactly right. People who are under great stress and are desperate, have a breaking point.

I’ve noticed more people who are obviously under stress.

Guys, don’t go overboard on this stuff.

ANWR was available for much of the Trump years. Exploratory seismic and actual wells did not find significant amounts of oil. ANWR is a long distance from Prudhoe. There has never been great evidence of oil there.

This is all well on the way to proving itself the number 1 political battle that never needed to be fought.

Then you have to have a pipeline to transport it. Pipelines are evil.

Meanwhile as Biden shuts us down....China has built the world's first "smart vessels" on LNG, which will be used to service drilling platforms

They operate on LNG, that is, on liquefied natural gas, have four "smart" systems on board, and the first two such vessels - Offshore Oil 542 and Offshore Oil 547 - have already been delivered to Nantong (Jiangsu province). In general, they plan to build 12."

They will be electric or hydrogen powered with long range just like the cars and trucks that don’t exist.

The electricity and other energy to charge the batteries or make the hydrogen will come from the non-existent reliable wind and solar power just like what doesn’t exist now.

The nearly double amount of energy in the form or electricity will also come from the non-existent renewable power system that will be built at unbelievable cost and resources.

Of course there are always unicorn farts and fairy dust.

Won’t it be just great?

IF this madness ended right now and the burdens were lifted from drilling and producing oil AND the refineries were built that are needed FEW people have any idea how long it will take to recover from the hole that has been made by this ship of fools. If work began today at a good clip it would take at least five years to begin to reduce the price of oil products.

Nobody gets it but we few who have worked in the oil and gas and other energy industries for decades.

Renewables are around 10% at most of our current electric power. The NEPA assessment projects this growing almost none in the next ten years. All other sources of electric power are expected to grow little or shrink depending on the region.

IF work began right now at a frantic pace we could not build enough generating capacity in decades to replace oil based transportation fuels.

What these idiots have done is the equivalent of consuming all the life boat rations they could eat on the first day and throwing out the rest with no idea at all of what to eat and drink tomorrow.

In my estimation, they have pretty much killed us and the world is laughing ready to dance on our grave and take what we’ve left.

Fin.
