The title is nothing but politically motivated and there’s nothing to support it. But if you read the article, the majority of Floridians were against giving taxpayer money to the Rays for this venture. Just like the majority of Floridians were in favor of the “don’t say gay” bill.

So again DeSantis rules in favor of his people.

What is CRITICAL here to understand is that DeSantis is NOT asking Florida’s sports teams (and other corporations) to donate millions to the NRA or Gun Owners of America - he simply telling them to SHUT THE HELL UP if you want concessions from the State of Florida.

Neutrality is fine, if corporations don’t like that rule, they can go to Oregon or California, while other, non-political, corporations will take their place and make bank in Florida.

“Latinx”? The use of this word by the Rays is divisive and vile.

Regardless of politics, ANY professional sport business that can’t pay to build their own facilities should do without.

I used to live in central Florida and got sick watching the taxpayers get raped over and over for stadiums and the like.
Hillsborough and Pinellas counties have certainly farked themselves in that regard.

OTOH, you can you call it rape if the victim (taxpayer) lays on their back and spreads their legs?

Mature men prefer walking through the woods hunting game than sitting on their fat asses, swilling down beer and watching other big men play a little boys’ game.

DeSantis is giving a voice to the people who do not want their sports and children’s companies on the front lines of the cultural divide.

The only sporting/professional facilities that should be paid for by the state are shooting ranges. After all the right to bear arms is in the constitution.:)

Don't veto it based on wokeness.

Veto it because it's immoral for taxpayers to pay for billionaire sports franchises playgrounds.

I don't know why maybe back in the 1970s, sports teams should have allocated 10% of their gross profits to future stadiums.

Even here in Green Bay, there is no way in Hell I would support an expansion or replacement of Lambeau Field like my stupid ass did in the 1990s. To Hell with them.

So DeSantis is politicizing the shootings because the Rays politicized the shootings? Nice that they gave him an excuse to.

If building and operating a stadium or arena were a profitable venture, the teams would insist on building it themselves.

Every time it is looked into it turns out that new stadiums or gussied up stadiums do not increase overall economic activity. All they do is shift it from one segment to another.

The Rays should Pay their own Way.
