At some point in the recent past “they” started a different way of counting “mass shootings”. It used to be more than X amount of people killed/injured by a targeting killer iirc.
Now it is 4 people killed in any type of shooting in the same area or in nearby areas. So a drug deal gone bad, gang-bangers, etc.
Other articles say 4 people “shot” - but the congressional research service states it as 4 people dead. (I’m guessing these idiot reporters figure that shot is the same as dead.)

When you change the definition of mass shootings, you can make the stats say whatever you want. Democrat politicians think we’re all as stupid as their voters are.

The Liberals want to call them assault rifles because most people use the wrong definition of “assault” when they hear the words assault rifle.
They use the police version of the word.
A person is assaulted on a street corner.
An assault weapon for the military is a weapon used in the assault phase of an attack. This is where you have come close to the objective and you are going to take it. It is the most dangerous phase of an attack.
It is where you want to force the enemy to keep their heads down or retreat.
You do this by putting as much “fire” on the enemy as possible. “Fire” is many weapons, but rifles are part of it.
You want fully automatic rifles when you are assaulting an objective.
An assault rifle would be an automatic rifle.
An AR15 is a Modern Sporting Rifle.
Overwhelming gun homicides are by handgun. Rifles of any kind are used in about 400 out of 10,000 gun homicides. Just behind fists. Even in mass shootings, hand guns are the primary weapon. But hey, let’s focus on rifles because it gets the libtards all riled up.
