If they ever do the “build us a new stadium or we move” standard NFL team’s extortion just the taxpayers of North Carolina would have to pay the full amount. David Tepper is worth 16.7 billion. They already have a nice stadium in uptown Charlotte that was recently renovated.
Charlotte should tell Tepper to "shove it". Owners need to quit blackmailing cities to build them new stadiums.

The Panthers owner got a sweetheart subsidy deal and the city screwed him over when they realized they got fleeced. A lot of lawyers will get rich off this.

My vision of a practice facility? All you need is a football field with a fieldhouse nearby with lockers and showers in it. Shouldn't cost more than 10 million dollars.
