A how does it threaten Russia? Which country in Europe is remotely even interested in invading Russia?
Oil? Gas? A pipeline was already being built and the Europeans are happy to buy these from Russia?
As for NATO expanding.... well, what did Russia do in the past 20 years? Invade Georgia, took over Crimea, interfere in Ukraine, Syria, etc.
