GOP lawmaker reintroduces bill that would cut US ties to the UN and related entities, including the World Health Organization

Republican Rep. Mike Rogers of Alabama has reintroduced legislation that would completely sever America's ties with the United Nations. GOP Rep. Thomas Massie of Kentucky is an original cosponsor of the bill.

The measure would extricate the U.S. from the U.N. and related entities such as the World Health Organization, cut U.S. funding to the globalist organizations, and end American participation in any agreements with the international bodies.

"The President shall terminate all membership by the United States in the United Nations, and in any organ, specialized agency, commission, or other formally affiliated body of the United Nations," the text of the bill states. "Except as otherwise provided, this Act and the amendments made by this Act shall take effect on the date that is two years after the date of the enactment of this Act."

"Effective on the date of the enactment of this Act, the United States will end any participation in any conventions and agreements with the United Nations and any organ, specialized agency, commission, or other formally affiliated body of the United Nations. Any remaining functions of such conventions and agreements shall not be carried out," the bill declares.

While many Americans would likely rejoice at the prospect of having the U.S. cut all ties with the U.N., the "American Sovereignty Restoration Act," which has been introduced to no avail in the past, will likely languish in Congress yet again.

"The United Nations has repeatedly proven itself to be an utterly useless organization," Rogers said in a statement.

100 percent for leaving the UN, and having the UN leave the US.

“something everyone can get behind?”

Sure, but what will it accomplish? There aren't ties, imo, they are one, a global organization. Shaking up the structure of the bureaucracy generates money and power opportunities.

The game is rigged with death rules.

Add nato to that list and I’m on board. No reason to support these deadbeats.

UN Withdraw After NATO Withdraw

Priorities people!

The biggest national security risk to the US today is our NATO commitment. And it offers no benefit.

At least we have a veto at the UN and can stop giving them money at will.

Should have happened a long time ago. Unfortunately, when we controlled the WH and Congress, they didn’t push to get rid of the UN. The UN has a strong history of being an “America Last,” and “Blame America First” organization, and we pay most of the bills. One can only hope that if we gain control the WH and both houses of Congress in 2024, they will find the balls to get rid of the UN once and for all.

That was Welch (founder of JBS) and later a Goldwater slogan, wasn’t it?

Once we get back our country here is a list of bills to pass.
No more illegal aliens in our government schools, fight it out in court.

No more sanctuary cities.

No more early voting - photo ID - one day only very special circumstances for absentee ballots paper ballots with thumb print on them

No more cross over primaries.

and NO MORE MOTORVOTER REGIGISTRATION!

I have championed this notion for over 20 years.
It is well past time to get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US.

I don’t know but it has been a common saying here since I joined FR in 2000.

About all I know about Goldwater is the cool campaign buttons my parents had. They had water and little gold flecks inside.

Wish I still had them but they weren’t made to last. What with water in them and mass production and all. I do have an “IKE” campaign pin with faux diamonds all over it.
