the boy was 16 years old or more... NOT a child, just a legally designated minor. Unless he was legally emancipated... She may be an adultress... but the laws have changed over the last 5 decades. Age of consent was from 14-16 in at least 1/3 of the USA... fifty years ago. now its almost universally 18.
No 16 year old boy is really a “minor” in my personal recollection/view of history. Or collection of acquaintances... through their historical and legal experiences would fully agree.
