An Arizona man convicted of murder in the 1984 killing of an 8-year-old girl was put to death Wednesday in the state’s second execution since officials resumed carrying out the death penalty in May following a nearly eight-year hiatus.

Frank Atwood, 66, died by lethal injection at the state prison in Florence for his murder conviction in the killing of Vicki Hoskinson, whose body was found in the desert, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said in a statement.

Vicki went missing months earlier after leaving her home in Tucson to drop a birthday card in a nearby mailbox.

Kevin Underwood tried, but Oklahoma is dragging its feet. I think it’s best to do the opposite of what most of them initially ask for, but if that’s known they’ll use reverse psychology.

Anyway, I’d say DP after 10 years and 2 auto appeals to make really sure there’s no issues. After that there’s little deterrence.

“””Does anyone know of a successful campaign to SHORTEN the length of time it takes to execute someone?”””

How about having the bleeding heart liberals be taxed to pay for the room and board and legal fees of these convicted criminals for the 30 to 50 years?

On April 12, 1985, a hiker found a small human skull in the Sonoran Desert near Tucson, about 20 miles from where the bike had been found. The skeleton had been scattered by animals.

Due to the state of the remains, the cause of death could not be determined, nor whether the child had been sexually abused. Dental records confirmed they were Vicki's remains.

4 years is too long and Timmy was an anomoly.

1 year feels about right, with a change in the rules of evidence and a felony for prosecutors who withhold exculpatory evidence. Felony murder if the accused is executed.

So there has been no successful campaign, I take it.

...Atwood's trial began in January 1987. He was found guilty of first degree murder on March 26[1], and was sentenced to death on May 8, 1987.[7] During his years on death row, Atwood had, as described by Hoskinson's mother, "gotten married, been baptized in the Greek Orthodox Christian church, obtained two associate degrees, a bachelor's degree in English/pre-law and a master's degree in literature. He has written six books, five of which have been published. He's also working with people on the outside to create a website".[4] As of 2022, he was one of the longest-seated prisoners on death row.[4] He claimed that police tampered with the evidence found on his car, and that no physical evidence had been found placing Vicki in his car.[4] His appeals for judicial re-review of his case were denied.[12][13]...

Brnovich has to live with his refusal to audit properly the Election.

He was a MASTER OF DELAY.

Now he needs you and he’s all CONSERVATIVE.

PLease, please, AZ DON’T GIVE THIS MONSTER YOUR STATE.

Arizona Republic wouldn’t let me post it here yesterday. All they did was whine and hide the facts of the murder anyway. We had a run on these here in Arizona back the early eighties.

Christy Ann Fornoff, Laura Dunn, and Jennifer Wilson all were murdered in similar fashion, while the libs fought tooth and nail against the death penalty, and then made its imposition like taking a nap.

God bless these angels and judge their murderers.

What’s the point of making him rot in jail for 38 years while we pay for his upkeep?

To mock the peasant taxpayers.

Now, if the victim is related to a federal judge, the wheels of Jesters turn more swiftly:

Eight years, because our Owners don't want to look TOO eager.
