Like the guy, he don’t play games.
At the same time, a little leery.
But kudos to him on this and other moves.

The member of the Bush family of grifters known as “W” made his first big money off fleecing the taxpayers over a stadium. That entire family has been ripping off taxpayers for generations.

“DeSantis gave a second reason for denying the state money for the private use of the Rays. “It’s also inappropriate to subsidize political activism of a private corporation,” he said.”

Governor DeSantis is doing right for Floridians.
You could say he’s knocking it out of the park.

No matter what the politics, the taxpayers should not be subsidizing pro sports. There are more effective and equitable ways to stimulate business, such as ending NIMBY and unneeded environmental barriers to development.

We need about 30+ states to take a cue from Desantis.

“I don’t support giving taxpayer dollars to professional sports stadiums, period,”

As James Madison once said, "I cannot undertake to lay my finger on that article of the Constitution which granted a right to Congress of expending, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents."

The owners are billionaires. They have assets and the ability to take out loans to finance the construction of new stadiums. If they can't do that, they should sell the team to somebody who can afford to build a new stadium.

No, the Red Sox and Yankees are helping the Tampa Bay economy.
The only time the Trop is even close to full is when these two AL East teams are visiting.
Same story at the Yankees and Red Sox spring training facilities in Florida.

We will keep DeSantis in Florida for at least another term.
Forget presidential run in 2024.

When Southwest Air had $69 round trip from Boston, it was cheaper to see a Red Sox game in Tampa Bay than in Fenway. Dollar for salary dollar, the Rays are best team in baseball, ever.

OTIH, he was a strong states’ rights proponent.
