Pretty clearly, any player in a position to act against the Revolution has been threatened. In Brnovich's case, probably both threatened and bribed with the prospect of becoming the next US Senator from Arizona, which he now has a very good chance of doing.
So what do you do? Face the very real risk of dying in a mysterious one-car accident some night or play the game and hope you can eventually exert some influence from the inside?
Whatever the case, there is no law left - so Brnovich could be pure as the driven snow and still face massive non-cooperation and sabotage from the legions of post-Joe Arpaio scum infesting the higher ranks of Maricopa County law enforcement and government.
