Then why didn't she get the movie parts she was angling for, or the voice work? Why did Harry's just completed manuscript get rejected?

They are grifters like the Obamas, but she never offered Obama anything worth value before marrying Harry, and their mismanagement of Megxit has been so hamfisted that the two of them are becoming toxic. Obama works (outside of the pure political realm) with people who are smarter (in a woke-academia sense) or who have something to offer (money, prestige).

Like Obama, the Markles are all in it for themselves, and they are not subtle about it. Meghan's second tier role on cable TV's "Suits" and a stint as one of 20+ game show presenters doesn't qualify as prestige.
