Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) said in an interview broadcast on Sunday that Texas needs to find “common ground” on gun control by respecting the Second Amendment while also requiring safety measures on firearms.

O’Rourke, the 2022 Democratic candidate for governor of Texas, slammed current Gov. Greg Abbott (R) for what he described as “extreme” gun policies in the interview with KXAN-TV in Austin, Texas, citing a Quinnipiac poll that found only 6 percent of Texans agree with Abbott’s policy of no background checks.

Where do they get this ‘no background’ check insanity? I guess they want husbands and wives, kids, anyone else to have a background check when you give or even lend them a gun. They’re saying 94% support that?

O’Rourke: Time to find ‘common ground’ on gun control

Riggggght.

His side: AR-15s and AK-7s are banned. Standard capacity 30 round magazines are banned. He will take them from us.

Our side: (crickets)

To him, this is common ground.

There’s no common ground. These folks just need to be defeated then we need to start rolling things back.

There is no common ground. You want to not punish, or not even arrest violent criminals, while strictly limiting what arms the law-abiding can have access to, and harshly punishing those who violate those ever-tightening laws, you want to make the law-abiding pay for the actions of criminals, e.g. by forcing them to pay for background/registration checks even though gun ownership is a right, and to buy liability insurance. Meanwhile, you want to arm government agents to the teeth, exempting them from all the gun control laws, and this even while they simply stand aside while school children are being massacred in your “gun-free zones”, if not lying about their actions, or even actively preventing armed citizens or parents from taking any action against murderers, while the police do nothing about them.

Sorry, there’s no room for any “compromise” there whatsosever.

Sorry La Raza boy. There is NO COMMON GROUND in the Bill of Rights. It is not up to the government to manipulate them. The Bill of Rights belong to the American people. Taco Bell is hiring. Why don’t you get off your ass and go get a real job.

All we needed was one single cop with balls enough to charge into a school to save our children from a murderous product of the Democrats. We finally had a Border Patrol Agent drive to the seen and do that. Finally.

The only new laws we need are for cops to be held fully accountable for dereliction of duty and cowardice on duty. Every single adult human being should have been expected to do that, armed or unarmed. In fact, many were perfectly willing to give up their lives to save the children. The cops there in Texas stopped them.
