We need to find common ground on the Democrats having common sense policies that protect the Constitution ...

OK, let’s find “Common Ground.”
We have the guns, you want them.
What will you give up to get those guns from us?
You have NOTHING to offer except bluff, bluster and a threat of legislation.
And WE still have the guns.

End of negotiations.

What will Beto give up to us to get the 30 round magazines?
Again, they have NOTHING to give up, and we still have the 30 round magazines.

What other items will Beto give up to us to get anything we have?
They still have nothing.

There is no common ground when you’re trying to take away my rights.

That is theft, so there beto, can I decide what I want to steal from you out of your house?

Can I steal your car for the reason of public safety?

They're losing the debate folks.

Gun control is one of the few issues where the Left can't snooker people with cute slogans or paid activist groups.

That is why they had to get 10 stupid GOP Senators to agree to something that leaves out many of the Dems' wish items.

But make no mistake, if this bill passes, you're going to see another mass shooting and then the Dems and media will demand that Republicans "do more" to push for more gun control.

But the point is that the Dems can NEVER pass gun control on their own.

Ok, I’ll bite. What “common sense” gun control measures would have stopped the Uvalde shooter?

Background checks? He passed them and he had no criminal record. The only way background checks would have stopped this or nearly any other school shooting is if there was an extensive database created that collected suspicious but noncriminal behavior and encouraged the populace to anonymously and freely snitch on things they find worrisome. The shooter also apparently had family support for owning firearms because an 18 year old working part time at Wendy’s doesn’t have the money to buy multiple $1000+ firearms and drive a new truck.

Meanwhile, the LE agent who stopped the shooter had to quickly obtain a shotgun because the police on the scene weren’t doing anything. Would subjecting that officer to a background check and waiting period for that firearm saved lives?

Safe storage? The shooter owned his weapons. There are a few school shootings where the shooter stole a poorly secured gun, but not this one or Parkland or many other prominent shootings paraded in the media.

Red flag laws? Coming from the “15 days to slow the spread” people, trusting the government to judiciously apply this power is profoundly stupid. Sure, there is an abstract idea that this could work, but in practice it’s a cultural change in exactly the wrong direction. Red flag laws means to trust a government that has proven itself not worthy of trust and encouraging the destruction of whatever trust remaisn in your fellow neighbor.

The Uvalde police department had specific threats of a school shooting years ahead of time (maybe a different student, but still, they can’t say they didn’t believe it could happen in their district), they had specific active shooter training, including two months before the shooting, they were on the scene relatively quickly they had eyes on the shooter, they just didn’t act. How do you find common ground with that?

Is the fake Hispanic O’Rourke still threatening to nuke anyone who doesn’t turn in their guns?

Does he still fantasize about running over little kids, and the pleasure their screams of pain would give him?

That’s why they want red flag nonsense too.

There are already more than enough checks on this subject you oaf!

What we need is mental health progress and common sense in the schools (and everywhere else) to reign again.

It would also help if the Democrat party would stop its war on law and order, but the Democrat party is evil and cannot do so.

Dude is angling so hard for Biden's gun czar position and yet he'll never, never get out of Texas. Never.

When Bebo loses this election, Big Daddy father-in-law is going to put his foot down and make Bebo work for a goddamn living.

To Democrat/Communists, finding “common ground” means “you accept completely what they demand”.

In the United States under the auspices of the US Constitution, when considering the views of those who desire to eliminate the 2nd Amendment:

THERE.

IS.

NO.

COMMON.

GROUND.

They are coming unglued, IMO. Doesn’t mean they aren’t every bit as destructive, dangerous, and anti-American as they have been, because they are.

I have noticed over the past few months, the level of shrillness and hysteria coming from the Left has significantly ramped up. Over the last week or two, the current talking points involve “our democracy being at risk”.

“O’Rourke: Time to find ‘common ground’ on gun control”

right, beto, now that your “confiscate them all” plan found no support, time to back-off to the “common ground” shibboleth ...
