GOP In Chaos As Trump Refuses To Endorse Kevin McCarthy For Speaker

Trump is trying to claim that he never endorsed Kevin McCarthy for speaker even though he endorsed him two weeks ago.

A couple of weeks ago, Trump endorsed McCarthy and said he was “an outstanding Representative for the people of California, and a strong and fearless Leader of the House Republican Conference.”

However, according to The Washington Examiner, Trump now claims that he never endorsed McCarthy for speaker, “Towards the end of a recent interview, Trump interjected to correct conservative talk show host Wayne Allyn Root after he said Trump endorsed McCarthy for speaker. “No, I haven’t,” Trump said. “No, no, no. I haven’t,” he added through some crosstalk. “No, I endorsed him in his race. But I haven’t endorsed anybody for speaker.”

Trump’s initial endorsement read a lot like he would also support McCarthy for speaker. The whole reason that Kevin McCarthy is sucking up to Trump is that he yearns to be the next speaker of the House.

If Trump doesn’t support him for Speaker, House Republicans could plot their first-ever coup against the person who is the presumed speaker if they win the majority.

Rep. Jim Jordan is the person who is lurking in case McCarthy stumbles. If Trump and his diehards in the House support Jordan, McCarthy could be screwed, and all of his kissing up to Trump will have been for nothing.

Yes because McCarthy can win the seat in general.
That is 100 times better than losing to Democrat in general
Todd Akin
Mourdock
Roy from Alabama
Etc etc all good conservatives but lost to democrats in general.

So here’s an interesting question. Suppose the GOP wins the House back in November but neither McCarthy or any other Republican can get 216 votes to be elected? Nobody is Speaker and unlike the Senate there is no House equivalent of President Pro Temp. So you have a Constitutionally mandated office with nobody to fill it.

They supported him twice against phony impeachment charges. But you are right, they did not lift a finger to support the theft of the election because they were all too happy to replace him. That’s why the GOP will never receive another penny until it becomes the GOP MAGA.

Freepers warned us for years about mccarthy. Sad that President Trump didn’t see those posts.

“Where does Trump say that he wants him to continue leading it?”

He NEVER did. He backed him simply for his re-election and it was misconstrued as an endorsement for speaker.

Well the fact this guy thinks Trump endorsing him for speaker or not creates “chaos” tells you in thr headline what a joke the article is.

House members vote for the speaker. Trump endorsing. Or not endorsing someone for the position doesn’t creat chaos..

Nonsense on its face

I said a long time ago that Trump was just “USING” McCarthy.

Looks like I was/am correct.

No. They keep voting till somebody is Speaker. From Wikipedia

“If no candidate receives a majority vote, then the roll call is repeated until a speaker is elected. In the longest speaker election in House history, 133 ballots (cast over a two-month period) were needed before representatives chose Nathaniel Banks as their presiding officer for the 34th Congress (1855–1857). Multiple roll calls have been necessary only 14 times since 1789, and not since 1923.”

Democrats stab you in the back from across the aisle! RINOs stab you in the back up close when you least expect it.

The Republican Party is in a blocking position to prevent the emergence of a broad-based populist and nationalist right wing movement/party, the only thing that could possibly take power and destroy the communist revolution which is now well underway.

I have come to believe that that is its purpose.

Chaos? If the GOP is in chaos it wouldn’t be for this reason - haven’t even had the election yet to be voting for who the speaker is let alone knowing who the members are in total that will be making such a decision.

Jim Jordan has no chance to become Speaker anymore than any conservative does. The reason a RINO is always speaker is because it takes 218 votes to win and the average GOP House member is middle of the road.

I suppose a Speaker would be selected eventually. In the mean time the Democrats would do everything they can to make the Republicans look bad.

.
They also wanted to expand Mueller’s investigation and openly promoted unprecedented legislation dictating a President could not fire Mueller.

Most suspect they were advised it was Unconstitutional.
