“these regulatory agencies in the federal government have basically become subsidiaries of the pharmaceutical companies,” DeSantis said.”

So he’s in favor of requiring 10 years for new treatments coming to market ?
A gauntlet of regulations?
What am I missing ?

There is too much regulation right now

Statistical Medicine is riddled with poor “studies”.

I’m not sure of the correct process, but what we now have is NOT working.

You don’t see a conflict with Pharma funding and influencing CDC to drive their own profits?

He did not say that. As you well know.
The FDA and CDC have become rubber stamps for whatever the Big Pharmaceutical companies propose. The FDA/CDC don't question the conclusions - even though the data often show contrary evidence.
The FDA/CDC did not question Pfizer's request to wait 75 years to release their Covid shots trial data - it took other lawsuits to get a judge to reduce that request to 10 months (albeit we have yet to see the data. I would not be surprised if another delay comes up).
When a whistle blower claimed that Pfizer was cooking the data during the trial (e.g., unmasking the vax/placebo subjects) the FDA ratted the whistleblower out and got her fired.
The FDA/CDC once agreed to track adverse vaccine data - to absolve the Pharmaceutical companies from lawsuits - but now that the VAERs data is showing 'bad stuff', the FDA/CDC claims that VAERs is not to be trusted. Which beggars the question - if the FDA/CDC absolved the Pharmaceutical companies from lawsuits because they were tracking the vaccine adverse data -- where is this data? It is not enough to say that VAERs is 'no good' - where is the 'good' data that the FDA/CDC is monitoring?

DeSantis is correct. This doesn't have anything to do with piling on regulations. It has to with a fair reporting of the data - and not covering up the results, and ignoring adverse effects when a drug product goes south.

The FDA should be stripped of its police powers and just give advisory opinions like Underwriters Laboratories.

If you and I want to take drugs not approved by the FDA at our own risk we should be able to. Personally I wouldn’t buy a toaster that was disapproved by Underwriters Laboratories. But I don’t have that level of respect for the FDA, since they haven’t earned it.
