The Food and Drug Administration is preparing to order Juul Labs Inc. to take its e-cigarettes off the U.S. market, according to people familiar with the matter.
The FDA could announce its decision as early as Wednesday, the people said. The marketing denial order would follow a nearly two-year review of data presented by the vaping company, which sought authorization for its tobacco- and menthol-flavored products to stay on the U.S. market.

Forcing another product off line that helps people quit regular cigarettes.
The hand of Big Tobacco is behind this, and never mind the government rhetoric (which should never be taken at face value anyway).

Building precedent for banning anything the regime doesn’t like.
Banning Back Better.
Be nice if someone would obey the Constitution and get rid of many aspects of the federal government.

Altria owns about 1/3 of Juul.
Yup. Further proof is that Biden will order a reduction in the amount of nicotene allowed in cigarettes, which will lead addicts to smoke more to compensate.
Democrats are in the pocket of Big Tobacco.
We need an amendment to the constitution that the government is not authorized to regulate commerce.
“Building precedent for banning anything the regime doesn’t like.”
The precedent already happened. Remember when cities made it unlawful to smoke cigarettes in PRIVATEly owned bars and restaurants?
How about a real and direct effort to stop the drugs coming over our border before pretending you’re doing your job on the minor issues.
Commerce clause jurisprudence. All three branches of the federal government hold that the federal government can ban any product; can ban travel; and can compel the public to buy specific goods or services.
Be nice if someone would obey the Constitution and get rid of many aspects of the federal government.
It would be nice if the “conservative” GOP would do something now and then to reduce the size of government.
Heck, the GOP won’t even defund PBS. that would be a nice symbolic gesture but it will never happen.
The bigger government gets the smaller the citizens become.
If it’s the government’s role to protect you from e-cigs, and also the government’s role to force you to take an experimental clot shot ... you might be a Democrat.
Government central creates ridiculous incentives that push people from one end, to the other. Eventually, it will just cut you off.
What about Vuse? Why would they not be banned at the same time. Vaping induced lung injury (EVALI) is a real thing, I have personal experience with it. It looks like lung cancer, but it is not and it is treatable in most cases. But if it progresses far enough, it can be terminal. Something is not right with these e-cigs. Maybe short term to help quit, but not long term the way many are using them.
You mean all three branches of the regime?
Seriously, there is almost nothing that “our government” does not control, regulate, tax, influence, or discourage. It intrudes on every aspect of our lives.
We are a republic in name only.
The US government, fighting e cigarettes harder than fentanyl…
The problem is that once something is enacted it becomes something to conserve.
Republicans are only good for the odd half hearted resistance to Democrat ambitions.
As you said, they don’t roll it back.
This goes back to Mr “No Repeal” Eisenhower, whould could have helped save this country but didn’t.
Could it be that this company hasn't sent enough $$$ to Rat Party Headquarters?
