Rep. Gaetz introduces bill to ban IRS from acquiring ammunition

The IRS has reportedly spent $725,000 this year on ammo.

Florida GOP Rep. Matt Gaetz has introduced a bill to disarm the Internal Revenue Service.

Along with fellow Republican Reps. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.), Jeff Duncan (S.C.), and Paul Gosar (Ariz.), Gaetz is pushing the "Disarm the IRS Act," which would prohibit the IRS from acquiring (by purchase or otherwise) any ammunition.

The bill arrives following Gaetz's discovery that this year alone the IRS has spent $725,000 on ammunition. Odd timing, he says, considering the nationwide shortage of ammo and Biden administration's stated animosity toward gun rights.

"Here's the Biden plan: Disarm Americans, open the border, empty the prisons – but rest assured, they'll still collect your taxes, and they need $725,000 worth of ammunition, apparently, to get the job done," said Gaetz on a recent episode of Fox News' 'Jesse Watters Primetime.'

The strategy, said Gaetz, is disconcerting because it reflects an attempt by the administration to scoop up all the ammo "they can possibly find," while attempting to limit access to ammunition for everyday Americans.

I wonder how much food the government is hoarding.

Every agency has a law enforcement arm as they can’t ask the FBIMa d US Marshal Service to do their work.

Fed agencies qualify 4 times a year,’plus additional training.

IRS has 2000 armed agents. Each one qualifying 4x a year. It is t as much ammo as one would think.

So, rather than take away its ammunition get rid of the 2000 folks with guns.

THIS is how they will do it. They will not send in a team of SWAT attackers. They will not endanger themselves. Shut down your accounts. Send a message: Comply or you cannot buy or sell.

And the other seventy(?) or so agencies also buying up ammo?
What happened to the millions of rounds purchased a few years ago?
Or was the Billions?
This is not the first time Fed. has depressed ammo availability.

Cut off ammunition to the Capitol Police, too. After the Ashlee Babbitt shooting they aren’t to be trusted.

The IRS should be passing the ammo out with refunds.

Remember that huge data breach at OPM a few years ago? Someone has a very long list of names and addresses, probably neatly sorted by agency and zip code. Our bureaucrat overlords may believe that they can remain unscathed, but when you go picking fights with countless people who just want to left alone... well, they will find ample reason for regret.

BREAKING: Republican introduces bill while in minority party that they know doesn’t have a chance at passing!

Because they specialize in that.

That’s not very much ammo for 2000 armed liars...

That’s about 500 rounds per person...

If the government buys ammo like they buy hammers this is about 4 boxes of 9 mm ball and a fiddy pack of 55 grain 556 fmj.

It’s a shell game. Remember that scene in the movie “Independence Day” when someone asked how could the government pay for an expensive hidden project? The other guy says “You don’t think a hammer really costs $20,000 or a toilet seat $10,000?” or something similar to that effect.

The ammo gets paid for out of the IRS budget, then probably gets shipped to Joe Biden and his buddies.
