UVALDE, Texas - A major development this morning out of Uvalde, Texas.
The school district's police chief is announcing he's stepping down from his city council position following the Robb Elementary School shooting that killed 19 students and two teachers.
This morning, Uvalde school district police chief Pete Arredondo is off the city council.
Arredondo writing in a resignation letter, “it is in the best interest of the community to step down to minimize further distractions."
Arredondo has been criticized repeatedly for his handling of the Robb Elementary shooting in May that left 21 dead.
Community frustration boiled over at last week's city council meeting where Arredondo was nowhere to be seen.
Arredondo was elected to the city council position just before the shooting but had never attended a meeting.
According to state officials, Chief Arredondo was among the first on-scene during the May 24th shooting.
But his officers waited in the hallway for over an hour while a gunman was firing inside the classrooms.

Assuming one of the parents doesn’t resort to self-help and gets him first.
I’d settle for public execution in front of the Texas Capitol building for gross dereliction of duty resulting in death.
I have read that the man committing seppuku would have a few words with his second, the man charged with beheading him. If he felt he really couldn’t go through with it, he could tell his second to behead him as soon as his blade touched his stomach. Others might tell the second to wait until he had actually completed his cuts.
It would probably be best for all if Arredondo left the Uvalde area for good.
Hope the families of the murdered children are sending him pictures everyday. Still waiting for the email from the DOJ telling him to stand down, you know its out there

You’re right, of course. No honorable person — even a abject coward — would know never to show his face again in this town. ... Then again, the archaic personal characteristics of honor and dignity are probably considered a form of “white supremacy” by many.

Everyone who refused to engage the shooter should be forced to resign and have “COWARD” painted on their front door.
Uvalde is now an adjective when used with the word police meaning cowardice, incompetence, dereliction of duty, the worst of the worst.
