Voters sick of Biden, Trump may look to independent candidate in 2024 White House race
The Washington Times - ^ | July 6 | By Susan Ferrechio

Voters, unenthusiastic about a Trump vs. Biden rematch in 2024, are increasingly open to dumping the Republican and Democrat ticket entirely for an independent candidate.

Two recent polls show a majority of Republican, Democratic and independent voters would consider a “moderate independent candidate” for president if President Biden and former President Trump run again in 2024.

“Our observed aversion to the former and current president as voters begin thinking about 2024 tickets is a major opening for an independent presidential ticket,” Mark Penn, chairman of the Harvard-CAPS Harris Poll, which conducted the two surveys, said.

The poll of registered voters, taken at the end of June, found that 60% would consider an independent candidate in 2024 if Biden and Trump are their respective party’s nominees in 2024.

Among Democrats, the number rose to 64%, while 53% of Republicans said they’d weigh an independent candidate. Among independent and other unaffiliated voters, the number shot up to 66% who are willing to give an independent candidate a close look.

Wishful thinking. Biden never had any support, but trying to project his nonsense onto Trump is laughable

Keep it up Uniparty

Still calling illegal aliens “workforce” and not the native-born Americans they pushed out of those jobs. The Uniparty thanks you for your continued support of the welfare state.

Xiden won’t be running in 2024, even if he can still walk.

That may be true but I’d prefer to have the automation in place before I cripple the industry’s manpower. It’s kinda like the new green deal. Doing away with fossil fuels might be great with a proven, economical alternative. Just destroying the various carbon based energy industries with a vague hope of alternatives has really screwed the pooch so far.

Trump’s going to win. The best part will be the screaming and wailing from the neverTrumpers and the Leftists.

Well, his campaign did, while he stayed comfortably in his basement.

Trump dominated the campaign trail, but Biden dominated the “living room campaign.”

There was no “living room campaign” any more than there were 81 million votes.

You just keep telling yourself that. But reality is something else. Biden's campaign absolutely dominated with virtually nothing competing with it - well more than enough to make the difference even with any ballot stuffing that took place.

You are completely clueless, obviously, as to the effect campaigning and messaging can have on voters...especially if there is zero competing message.

Egg McMuffin is still haunting Utah trying to take out Mike Lee in this year’s U.S. Senate election. He could just as well be Mitt Romney, Jr.

George Wallace actually won electoral votes electorally for the last time in 1968.

However, as recently as 2016, there were electors who refused to vote for Trump (2 in Texas) and Hillary (1 in Hawaii, 4 in Washington).

I don’t care what party Trump runs from as long as it does not have in its membership Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Obammy, Deadbrain Joe, the Klinton Beast, the Klinton whore hopper, and many thousands of commies left that there are. Trump gets my vote, RINO party or Indy, he gets it, period. We’re behind you Mr. President, the ONLY and LEGALLY ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE US IN THE LAST ELECTION!!!!!!!! To hell with the RINO party which I left after I got my fill of George Junior!!! and his Patriot Act crap. I am glad he disappeared after the election.

“Third parties have a lousy record.”

This isn’t about whether the third party can be elected. It’s about getting a candidate who will take enough votes from a Republican to throw the election to a minority democrat. See Clinton, William.
