Highland Park shooter Bobby Crimo III was left in a hot car by his mom for 27 minutes as a toddler - with his mother later convicted over the incident.
The disturbing 2002 incident was one of multiple brushes with the law Crimo's mom Denise Pesina and dad Bob Crimo Jr had with cops prior to Monday's massacre in Chicago that killed seven.
It is unclear if the hot car incident left Crimo, now 21, with any physical or mental injuries that may have ultimately led to the horrific shootout.
Police were also called to his family's home 10 times, to reports of domestic violence. Those incidents included Denise Pesina allegedly attacking her husband with a screwdriver and shoe after he berated her looks.
The report details nine instances cops were called to the Crimo family home in Highwood between 2010 and 2014, often to address physical disputes between the youth's mother and father, Robert Crimo Jr. and Denise Pesina.
During one drunken altercation in August 2010, Crimo Jr. told police responding to a domestic abuse call that Pesina had struck him in the head with her shoe.
Crimo Jr. - who unsuccessfully ran for Mayor in Highland Park in 2019 - reportedly told officers that his relationship with Pesina was 'failing,' and that she was intoxicated.
Pesina, meanwhile, told police that Crimo Jr. had 'disrespected and belittled' her by making disparaging remarks about her appearance. She said those comments spurred her to drink.
In October 2010, police recorded another incident were they were called to the home because of a reported fight between Pesina and Crimo Jr.

So the parents were a dysfunctional mess and surprisingly their kid was also a mess and surprisingly nobody in the family did anything about anything.
Prosecute the parent(s) who signed for this kid to get a weapon. Word will get around that being a parent means responsibility and accountability.
I’ll bet this is the tip of the iceberg. It takes a lot of work to screw up a kid that much.
Let’s not water things down. The shooter’s parents are trash. The shooter is trash. None of them serve a worthy purpose on earth.
How many “mass shooters” had the “benefit” of a dysfunctional family? Most I expect. And how many “mass shooters” did not have a dysfunctional family? Zero I expect.
What is the real epidemic in America? The state and health of the nuclear family.
The American media is too busy parroting White House press releases and going after Trump to do much of anything else. Journalism is dead in America.
This just gets better and better.
The only solution will be to have the govt raise kids. Yep, that’s the ticket. Parents can’t be trusted. I can hear it now. The army of unemployed grads with psychology degrees in a new nanny state bureaucracy.
Certainly a lot of family dysfunction going on. Kids see this drama played out before them every day, that has to have a cumulative effect. This was probably by no means an isolated event.

Most of America’n journalism venues do not practice The Daily Mail’s methods of earning revenue from “online” copies of their publication. They are masters at it with more ad driven bots and ad driven hidden bears than any other publication.

So I get the family history of abuse is very relevant.
But I don’t understand the press obsession with the fact that the mother went shopping at Target 2 days later.
Is there a minimum time you need to avoid shopping after a family member commits a mass murder? What if you need something? Underwear for your son in prison? tape recorder to collect death threats? Ammo, no Target doesn’t sell it. Something for your bug out bag? Luggage? Stress snacks?
Note to self: If family member commits horrendous act, switch bags to something non-descript before arriving home after shopping.
The whole family was one huge red flag. How was it missed?
Or maybe it wasn’t, but instead the leftists protected them after they installed a “trigger” they would later activate for the son.

brain neurology is in its infancy at that point, and not fully mature until about age 25
and many kinds of trauma at 2 years old could interefere with it’s growth and growth patterns
