“The market is empty,”
and firewood for a Woodstock takes months to season or it won’t burn properly.
Yes, I think the only people worried live in new construction around big citied. The German people are resourceful and they will make it through winter just fine.
Looked up, said $7.27 per gallon when the conversions are done.
“ Germany to reactivate coal power plants as Russia curbs gas flow”
Oh-h I was just getting ready to post that but you beat me to it. So I will post this...
From Becket: King Henry is wet from a rain storm. He goes to a hovel and ....
Henry: GIVE ME WARMTH! GIVE ME FIRE!
Becket: You will find no fire here sire. Each hovel is allowed two measures of fire wood a year. One stick more and they are hanged.
Henry: My edict?
Becket:Your edict sire.
I really miss Alaska
I’m in Florida now, suns down and it’s 82°F. I’m not a fan of the humidity, but I don’t miss ice and snow one bit.
German air will be full of smoke and virtually unbreathable because they allowed a weird Scandinavian girl to set their energy policy.
Another Turnip Winter on the way. Bon apetit.
For some reason that is one of my favorite quotes.
How can they be freezing? It’s now summer in Germany.
Ah...but FIRST they outlawed winter!
“...just like they did in the Middle Ages...”
Just like they did during WW2.
Dead bodies make great fertilizer.

…and no NG means absolutely no manufacturing, those twits are going to learn what a Cold War really is……and Vlad says Checkmate, again, and again.
WE are headed back into the 18th and 19th Centuries.
The guillotines were busy in France in the late 1700’s. Why not drag them out of storage and put them into steady action again?
It was so hot today. It was unreal. I guess I will have to deal with it tomorrow.
Well, they shut down their coal mines and plants, shut diwn nuclear plants, and started importing from Russia and throwing up “green” options like it was their last day on Earth. I’m not sure what they expected would happen...
Also called masonry stoves, or tile stoves. Low-Tech Magazine had a good article about them: https://solar.lowtechmagazine.com/2008/12/tile-stoves.html
A similar option is the rocket mass heater: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket_mass_heater
Both have the advantage of working well with small-diameter wood, such as twigs and prunings. And they both use thermal mass to absorb the heat and then radiate it long after the fire has gone out.
Continuing proof, as if it were needed, that the sanctions are a joke.
And the joke is on us.
