What’s childish is ignoring the Russian imperial mindset. They aren’t kidding about wanting Alaska back - I had Soviet officers tell me that “Alaska belongs to them” in 1991.
I told them to blow it out their butts - we bought it, we own it - but they were serious in their screwy Russian way.
If they’re crazy enough to invade Ukraine, they’re crazy enough to try to seize Alaska.
They could try, but it would be a lot harder than what they are doing in the Ukraine.
well if you can get out of the MSM echo-chamber and cartoon-think world, we have been quite open about intending to degrade them. there is talk about breaking russia up. elected officials call for the leader to be killed. these things do count in the real world, even if everyone here seems to think this is just normal day at work. but then melts down when they say something similarly outrageous.
we are at war with russia now, we stole several hundred billion dollars from them and are apparently going to eventually have given ukraine everything short of nukes. we are as likely as not to be in a hot war with them before the elections, and that may very well be by design.
that is what matters. all this over the former Ukraine SSR? really?
