Known only as Amy, the 21-year-old claimed that alleged shooter Crimo admitted to postponing his dream of opening a nearby deli with his father in order to be closer to her
A neighbour of the Highland Park mass shooting suspect has admitted to feeling guilty to once having turned down the alleged killer for a date.
The 21-year-old, known only as Amy, also revealed this week that she still has a crush on Robert “Bobby” Crimo III, despite him having been charged with seven counts of first-degree murder for the Fourth of July parade bloodbath in Illinois.
Around 30 injured were also injured in the shooting which allegedly saw the 22-year-old open fire from the roof of a nearby former outdoor outfitters before being arrested.
Living near the home of Crimo’s father Bob, Amy said that the pair of them were fast-food colleagues at their local branch of Panera Bread bakery in March 2020.
She and Crimo became friends when they worked together at the eatery for about a month, prior to it closing due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"I’m just thinking about him," said Amy.
"I didn’t go to sleep last night and I haven’t eaten for two days."
She added that the pair soon developed feelings for one another but never dated because of her 'strict' parents outlook on her having relationships.
"I felt like we’re the same person," she said. "We liked anime (and) similar music."
She added that she'd no idea the aspiring rapper was obsessed with guns or had previously tried to kill himself, a matter that was handled by mental health professionals at the time.
"Looking back I think he wanted to keep it from me," said Amy, adding that Crimo admitted to postponing his dream of opening a nearby deli with his father in order to be closer to her.
“I didn't want to be in his way though," she said. "So I thought maybe if I stopped talking to him, he would (go ahead and) do it."
Instead, it appeared to have the opposite effect.
"Every day I would see him go by and he wouldn’t say 'hi' or 'bye' anymore," Amy said.
"I feel like I hurt him. So I feel guilty that this happened."
She believes something must have snapped to prompt him to shoot innocent people.
Why would she publicly admit this?
Fifteen minutes. Or three, as the case may be.
WAS she unaware that he was CROSS DRESSING???
Disgusting to even print this when there is video of cowardly “police” running away while children were being slaughtered. In past, more civilized empires, those men would have already been executed.

Amy, if you somehow make it to 30 please thank your parents.
Boy, I bet she is a real prize. . . /sarc
When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.
WTF??? She seriously wishes she had gone on a date with a psycho killer? What’s wrong with her?
This young lady needs psychiatric help.
She got your attention, didn't she?
Another Attention Deficit Disordered girl.
Did that happen in Highland Park too, or just?
Amy sounds like a real catch; good catch. She should be introduced to some Mexican pharmaceutical exporters.
She had a crush on him, but rejected a date? Yeah, something’s not adding up
She thinks that would have stopped him?
Yeah ... because what the world really needs is for her to become a psycho killer too.
She seems incapable of rational thought.
