If Trump wins the nomination I will vote for him happily, but I think we're better off with DeSantis, from what I've seen so far.

DeSantis needs to run in 2024. If he's not going to do it, he's not alpha enough therefore he does not deserve the presidency.

Hillary was in Obama's way. But Obama became the President. He wanted it.

We'll find out how badly DeSantis wants it. I think 2024 is his window. It's difficult to see what the future will be like.

I wouldn’t consider that “folding under pressure”.

Well, it’s folding.

It’s not Ronny D’s turn.”

That’s the language of monarchies. We have a constitutional Republic, and the Founders said 35 is old enough to be president.

If Ron runs the media will make him out to be Hitler just like every other republican the runs so the whole “electable” thing is meaningless. Trump might not be perfect but he’s by far the best president in my life time. Ron might be even better but I’d rather go with a sure thing.

DeSantis already took a lot of heat for his handling of coronavirus pandemic in Florida and Disney so we have an idea.

If DeSantis runs for the nomination, it only means he has more ambition than brains.

So it DeSantis were to win the nomination, does Trump or bust mean you won’t be voting, you won’t vote for DeSantis? Being an Only Trumper sounds as bad as the Never Trumpers. Before you calll me anything, rest assured I’ll be voting for the GOP candidate. Unless there is a really good third party with some chance of winning.

If DeSantis wins the primaries, I’ll vote for him in the General Election. But I’ll be voting for President Trump in the Primaries.

DeSantis has a mainline GOP resume. Yale, Harvard, JAG Lawyer, etc. He’s got plenty of time and doesn’t have to run in 2024 if he does not want to.

If Trump beat him to it in 2024, Gavin's shot might be in 2028. So if the window is open, you got for it. Then it may close and you don't know when it may open again.

No one is hitting this guy. Trump is being hit daily in prime time and is still winning massively. When DeSantis, the politician, runs Trump is going to hit him hard and daily. Of course all the while some RINO will try to squeeze in with 25%. It’s Trump or I don’t care to be honest. Biden, DeSantis, Pence. It’s all the same crap that’s been going on for thr last 25 years. The fact that all the wrong people are VERY comfortable with DeSantis but Trump keeps them up and night tells ME all I need to know.

I don’t think DeSantis will run against Trump, but if for some reason Trump decides not to run, DeSantis is in and would be the frontrunner.

The propaganda organs are working overtime trying to insert a wedge between Trump and DeSantis.

Trump's greatest asset, IMO, is his combativeness. It stresses many of his voters, but it drives the Rats/Rinos to distraction. Subsequently, overreaction results in mistakes by Trump's opponents. This crucial approach to dealing with the left has been largely missing, except for some by Goldwater and Reagan, from the right's presidential politics--as far back as my memory goes (1950s).

DeSantis is smart but less combative than Trump. I liked the way he handled Newsom, but he has yet to show he could be Trump's equal in keeping the left off balance. I watch and wait...

Again trying to one-up on Reagan that Trump has it so much harder. (What was harder, was mostly because Trump made it harder.)

Do not forget that Reagan not only had constant belittling and attacks, which he diffused and deflected brilliantly unlike someone else, But he faced almost all Congress against him most of the time. Trump lost the Congress but had most of the houses/time with him.
