WV Plaintiffs Resisted Tyranny; Others Must Too

Combustion Institute Fellow Gautham Kalghatgi reports that wind and solar — now producing just two percent of U.S. energy — would have to be increased by nearly 70 fold just to meet half of the country’s needs. “Even if it is possible, given the material and infrastructure requirements and the economic constraints, the environmental consequences will be unsustainable,” he writes.

For the poor of this world, any hope starts with the termination of restrictive energy policies implemented in the name of climate hysteria. Citizens should challenge these policies. For them, the plaintiffs in a recent case in the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) — West Virginia et. al. versus EPA — are a model for overturning destructive policies elsewhere.

In a 6-3 ruling on June 30, the court said the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency needed legislative authorization to broadly regulate carbon dioxide emissions in a manner that would transform the country’s energy market. The EPA had attempted to impose the regulation unilaterally to close coal-fired power plants and to generally discourage the use of fossil fuels.

I'm sure the epa will now reverse course due to the SCOTUS ruling. Right? Hello? Bueller?

These watermelons need to be eliminated along with their braindead followers.

Wind farm near me, completed 2 years ago. 1 out of 8 out of commission, too expensive to fix. Farm completed this January, 1 out of 15 OOC. Wind farm south of Big Spring, 3 out of 10 working. Landowners near me are upset because they aren’t getting revenue from the broken ones. Oh boo hoo. I warned some of them their “Iron Clad Contracts” weren’t. Now they have to admit I was right. As soon as construction is complete, the farms are sold to new owners.
A wind farm representative was looking for properties to start a new set of 100. Word has gotten out and landowners aren’t falling for it.
The cranes to make the more expensive repairs cost roughly half a million per day, and a lot of the parts are unavailable anyway.
Nice yard ornaments.

2 * 70 = 140, which is nowhere near 50.

Is it inefficient (there are no economies of scale)?

By the time solar could get to 50%, will demand for energy have nearly tripled?

“In the past three months alone, food and energy inflation has pushed 71 million people into poverty globally.”

I bet that number is gonna grow exponentially.

Supposedly the windmills take a massive amount of oil to keep.the parts lubricated. And it has to be changed regularly.

Everybody obeys the laws of physics. Solar and wind power simply cannot power a modern industrial society. Delusional lunatics must not be allowed to make policy for the American people.

Seven of the top 10 wind turbine producers are located with China. Most solar panels are made in China. Replacing America’s energy infrastructure with wind and solar makes China stronger, eliminating more American middle class jobs.

Solar and wind power simply cannot power a modern industrial society.

True enough. But for those Leftists in back of the "climate agenda," that reality is (to use what is by now a trite phrase) a "feature not a bug."

The Leftist "climate" activists have no interest in a "modern industrial society" being "powered." What they are pursuing is the destruction of of "modern industrial society." At the same time, the vast majority of oblivious corporate America (including the power sector itself) is pleased to go along with the "climate" agenda, offering little in the way of complaint, viewing it an opportunity in the short term to grift for taxpayers' money, which the federal government distributes freely, regardless of which political party controls the Executive Branch.

As for long term thinking, that's not really a thing with corporate America anymore, if indeed it ever was. The American way of life hangs in the balance, but unless the American people wake up to the reality that neither party is interested in shutting down the Leftist climate agenda, we're going to soon be passing the point of no return.

I’ve read that when the blades wear out, the only way to dispose of them is to bury them.

What gets me is solar/wind components don’t last very long and prone to break down. Compared to coal/gas/nukes there’s just no way these things can ever be considered reliable.

And don’t get me started on battery storage which is a joke right now.
