He’s ramping up the hysteria in hopes of getting some more $$$$ in his agency’s funding proposal.

So Mr. Guterres, what’s the plan to fix it? How much is it going to cost? Who gets the money? Where is the Proof of Concept going to take place and where? And what’s the risk mitigation plan in case your solution is crap and you make things worse?
Until that time, shut the hell up.
Why anyone still believes this BS is beyond me. Do we not have clips of the UN alarmists 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years ago?
What exactly can we do about climate change? There are only 3 things. One is to stop using petroleum and coal for energy. The second is to pay more in taxes. The third is to elect progressive politicians to run things. We are doing all of that. I don’t see what more we can do.
We are going to have starvation and deprivation soon. Wars are being fought over energy. I don’t see climate change getting better. Just once they could give us some praise for our previous efforts. If you want people to work harder you give them compliments. But you can’t continually beat people. With all the constant negativity and fear eventually people will stop caring because they don’t feel appreciated.
Cyber Security teaches us the surest sign of a scam is a sense of urgency if you don’t do something RIGHT NOW, very bad things are going to happen.
