Russia claims to destroy US-made rocket launchers — Ukraine disagrees

Russia claimed Friday to have already destroyed four of the long-range rocket systems sent to Ukraine by the US — but Kyiv says Moscow is lying.

The Russian Defense Ministry said Friday that four US-made High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) had been destroyed in the fighting since July 5, all in the Ukrainian province of Donetsk, part of the Donbas region that has seen the heaviest fighting of the war.

Russian Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov told reporters the four rocket launchers and one support vehicle had been taken out by “high precision weapons,” according to Russian state-run news outlet TASS.

It would be humorous if Russia and Ukraine were both playing us for U.S. tax dollars.

If the Russians have managed to destroy a Himars launcher they would be showing off their success with videos. And not the fake images of a cargo truck that is vaguely similar in shape to the truck that carries a Himars launcher.

There’s no value for the Russians in that propaganda. No loyal American will believe them.

Related... Russians are not allowed to criticize their leaders or government, especially in regards to the invasion of Ukraine.

They have destroyed 3-4 M777s and one Krab which got too close to the front. The rest of Russian propaganda - even their troops know that.

No loyal American will believe them.

Given that we haven't declared war against either belligerent, why should an American's loyalty to their country be called into question if they happen to believe the Russian Ministry of Defense's take on a particular event over that of, say, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense?

Effectiveness of Ukraine’s HIMARS Fuels Concern in Russia

[Excerpt follows.]
Russia has suffered “large losses in both men and equipment” in less than a week, according to Igor Girkin, a former commander of separatist forces in eastern Ukraine.

“The Russian air defense systems… turned out to be ineffective against massive strikes by HIMARS missiles,” Girkin, who also goes by the alias Strelkov, wrote on messaging app Telegram on Sunday.

The Russian view of HIMARS – TTG
Posted on July 11, 2022 by TTG
https://turcopolier.com/the-russian-view-of-himars-ttg/

Here’s Igor Girkin’s take on HIMARS

15:47PM, 10 July 2022

“The enemy continues with powerful missile strikes in Donbas.

Most likely, the Russian air defence which previously relatively (quite relatively) coped with the attacks with “Tochka-U” and “Uragan” turned out largely ineffective against massive strikes of HIMARS missiles. Today once again burning and detonating is Shakhtersk. Worse than last time...”

Another Russian war blogger, Roman Saponikov shared his thoughts on HIMARS on his 25k+ telegram channel.

“As it happened yesterday I observed the strike of HIMARS at Chernobayevka, Kherson, almost in front of my eyes. I’ve been under shelling many times, but what struck me was that the whole pack, 5 or 6 rockets, landed almost into a penny...”

Lol, I was just thinking “what I’m disloyal to the USA if I believe some of what Russia is saying?”.
Last time I looked we were not in a state of war with Russia.

"Given that we haven't declared war against either belligerent,..."

That's beside the point. Members of the Russian government have threatened or implied threats to nuke us several times. They're fomenting generalized hatred against Americans through their government controlled media with falsehoods. They've tried to interfere with U.S. elections (the filthy Russian accusations against Donald Trump in the "dossier" being only one case in point). They hate our freedoms. Their are many other reasons.

"...why should an American's loyalty to their country be called into question if they happen to believe the Russian Ministry of Defense's take on a particular event over that of, say, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense?"

Russian propaganda is not only false; it's moronic.

The Russians project their “denazification” propaganda from an American action in the past.

Denazification, cumulative review. Report, 1 April 1947-30 April 1948.
https://digicoll.library.wisc.edu/cgi-bin/History/History-idx?id=History.Denazi

And we didn’t continue to occupy Germany or Japan. Those countries were only invaded and temporarily occupied as part of a war for our existence. The Russians intend to keep the real estate that they take. They celebrate conquering other countries to loot and enslave. When the Soviet Union dissolved, we could have easily occupied Russia and did not.

So Russia has no excuse for invading Ukraine.

Ukraine is already less corrupt than Russia, but Ukraine continues to improve government against corruption. It’s been an ongoing effort for years.

Any country that has nukes pointed at us is our enemy and we should support any party that is their enemy within paramaters.
