A Florida police sergeant who was caught on video grabbing a female officer by the throat now faces criminal charges over the altercation, prosecutors announced.
Sunrise police Sgt. Christopher Pullease on Wednesday was hit with counts of felony battery on a law enforcement officer, tampering with evidence, assault on a law enforcement officer and assault on a civilian, according to the Broward State Attorney’s Office.

> Everyone is ugly and rude there . <
Interesting. Kind of makes you wonder who would accept a police position there. Maybe a local who wants to make a difference. Or maybe someone who can’t get a job anywhere else.
The first group deserves praise. The second group might be a bit worrisome.
I recall when this occurred. The female officer may have meant well. But went about it wrong.

From what I could tell, the sergeant was about to pepper spray a suspect who was already handcuffed and in the back of a police cruiser. Pepper spraying someone like that probably would have been illegal. So preventing it from happening would have helped both the suspect and the sergeant.
I wonder what the female officer said as she was pulling the sergeant back. If she didn’t say anything, yep, she could have done it a bit differently.
You would excuse the sargent?
Took way too long for charges to be filed.
I expect that retaliation against her has been happening.
I’m 100% against defund the police, but there are too many guys like this in uniform as well as too many cowards who are Uber tough on a timid person driving too fast then wilt in an active shooting situation (Ulvade, Florida….).
> You would excuse the sargent? <
Nope. His reaction was over-the-top, and criminal. But I guess he will argue in court that instinct took over. Maybe a jury will buy that. But I doubt it.

I was thinking the same thing. Other cops might refuse to partner with her. Backup will be slow to arrive, etc. As the old saying goes, no good deed will go unpunished.
Was she wheezing out his name as he grabbed her?
“Christopher! Pullease!”
Sadistic pig.
There are few things WORSE THAN AN ASSHOLE WITH A BADGE.
The good cops should weed them out, because they are giving them ALL a bad name.
THEY are the cause of BLM and ‘Defund the Police’ movements, because there are far too many of them.
“Took way too long for charges to be filed.”
“Nov. 19, 2019”
Charges should’ve been filed in the first few days. Somebody was hoping this would go away. Somebody else wasn’t letting it go away.
I remember those.
There are about 700,000 law enforcement officers in the US. You say there are "too many" like this. How many is too many?
This all took place in 2019 -— pre pandemic
I don’t know.
I have a clean record, very lawful. Only ticket I ever got was a U Turn and an unsafe start warning.
Yet in my very, very limited experience with cops I’ve came across 2 bullies.
One was when my dad and I drove back from a Thanksgiving dinner with family and we were pulled over for “crossing of the center line” about 10pm. He Accused us of being drunk because I admitted we had drank during that day (hours before, wine). He made us take a breathalyzer test and we both showed zero. So he claimed he had a faulty machine and forced us in the back of the squad car and drove us to jail where we had to wait for hours. Made comments about us being “boyfriends” even though I told him he was my dad. At the jail they also gave us a test on a much larger machine and we scored a zero..the jailers all laughed at the jerk cop, he drove us back and was very polite at that point. We got home at like 2am, exhausted.
I’m not even going to tell you the 2nd story which was even worse as I suspect your mind is made up.
I think there are many of them out there.
Well, they need a super-dooper double secret "brotherhood" of good cops to weed out the bad cops.
After all, their job is to fight crime and arrest criminals.
“ How many is too many?”
One is too many. Any organization is only as good as they worst psycho they tolerate in their ranks.
