The Merced Sheriff's Department said a local militia group has activated itself to help in the effort against the out-of-control Oak Fire.
The sheriff's office said in a statement released Sunday, that they are not un-supportive of community groups helping neighbors, but they wanted to stress they have not requested assistance from any militia group.

Brown said his group has the ability to "feed hundreds through our mobile chow kitchen, we’ve got heavy-hauler trucks, we can get livestock moved, we’ve donated our own properties, hundreds of our own acres for cattle and horses, and we’ve been feeding people for two days."
The headline add it seem that the militia group was suspected of starting the fire.

Well, Sheriff, maybe you should THANK those guys instead of suggesting that there’s anything sinister about them?

After Uvalde, I think that it makes sense for Citizens to not rely on Government Employees to respond in a timely manner to emergency situations.

on July Fourth, in San Jose, They had a fire on the eastern side of the city, in the hills. SJPD were On the bullhorn trying to force the citizens putting the fire out, to stop.
How about “Militia group assisting victims of Oak Fire”?
Resources were appropriate to employ years ago. They will answer the next call with similar uselessness.

Maybe they’d rather wait for the Antifa people? I’m sure they got extra masks for the smoke, and plenty of molotov cocktails to help with the back-burning.
Did the citizens stop the bullhorn?
The authorities sure know who all these “militia” groups are, but they can’t find any traces of BLM and Antifa anywhere.

Inmate volunteers from a nearby prison were used to fight a forest fire a few years ago. The forest service was glad to have them.
